Artest, Jackson reach boiling point

08:12 AM ET 01.05 | The Lakers probably don't need this right now. Ron Artest's first major contribution of the 2010-11 season occurred Tuesday upon confirmation of a Yahoo report that he engaged Coach Phil Jackson in a shouting match at a recent practice, yelling at Jackson to stop embarrassing him in public. Jackson admitted the report was true, Artest would not deny it and the Lakers should be very worried about it. First, it is becoming increasingly clear that Artest is not getting along with the coach whose patience and prodding last year brought out the best in the famously troubled star. Second, it is also clear that Artest's strangely distant, almost disengaged play this season has alienated enough people in the organization that somebody in the gym that day would unconscionably rat him out to the Yahoo reporter.

Guess he is sortof like Rodman. Just play ball and everything will be fine in Lakerland.

I'm not shocked, artest made similar claims during the playoffs last year and to this day still doesn't get the triangle offense. Maybe if he spent less time worrying about his record label and more time working on understanding the offense he wouldn't be getting called out. Artest, the greatest coach of all time has spoken and you need to hear what he's saying instead of worrying who he said it about and why he said it, this is a guy who has called out shaq, Kobe, Mj, rodman, etc so you won't be immune to being blasted if you deserve it. Worry less bout your crappy records and worry about LA's record. If not then go see your psychiatrist and get your priorities back in order.

Still say the lakers should have resigned a younger and more mature Ariza!

Barnes is a younger more offensive minded version of artest. Ariza isn't worth what he wanted financially and isn't as good as his stats suggest. He would never get those touches in LA and it's the best case for both parties to part ways. Ariza is havin his best years now and the lakers have an abundance of talent on the wings without overpaying for Ariza.

Trouble Trouble Trouble.

Are the Laker fans still convinced everything is fine?

Ariza did show out when it was time for the playoffs and finals yes?He did have a great season that year yes?I mean they payed Artest the same thing Ariza is getting now.Plus Ariza is not a headcase.

He did dee and I'm not bashin ariza i always liked his energy and effort but the lakers needed more defense that barnes and artest supply and ariza needed his chance to shine which he never would have gotten playing limited minutes and limited touches in LA. Was best for both parties to split, LA won a ring thanks to big play from attest and ariza is coming into his own. Was a good divorce for both sides man

I don't think they consider it spam. I think these guys are advertisers that pay FN a fee to do this. They are never removed immediately but only after they have been in the main flow of the T&R for a while. It's kind of like commercials during TV programs. If FN wanted to stop this they could with software.

Couldn't agree more man. They can give us warnings for bad posts instantly and ban sugar within 30 seconds of her making a post but they let these guys have freeroam daily. Makes you more then a bit suspicious about what's going on, especially since the spammers get worse daily and the moderation on then in inexistent at times

What a shocker, Ron Artest acting like an idiot! All these feel good stories, that auction of the ring and all that, very nice. But at the end of the day, this guy is a clown, always has been a clown and always will be a clown. Just because he takes his meds for a while doesn't change that. Perhaps the mentally ill in Memphis could use his help.
