06:39 AM ET 01.08 | LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson said Les Miles has told his team he's not going to take the head coaching job at Michigan after LSU's 41-24 AT&T Cotton Bowl victory against Texas A&M. Miles denied that he has spoken to Michigan about the opening that occurred this week when Wolverines Coach Rich Rodriguez was fired after three seasons.

You can deny all you want, we don't believe you until Michigan actually hires someone else. Too many coaches have lied to us over the years.

The spam is getting ridiculous on this thread also.

Miles is going to Michigan. Wait 4-6 hours and you will see it on ESPN.

Just courious, why would you leave a team that just won the Cotton Bowl, as dominate as LSU, for Michigan? Money? Im not a Miles fan and he obviously did well sooo....Why?

I think that it he will leave, and he will do it because he is a "Michigan man". He said that he was a "Michigan man"... point blank... the last time around when they hired Richrod.
In my opinion, it was pretty obvious that he SERIOUSLY entertained the idea last time, and if his team wasn't playing for a BCS NC, then he was gone.
I do respect the fact that he stayed as long as he did, but he was never a great fit at LSU.

Their fan base was never really happy with him this year when he was undefeated (or at least some of them were not happy with him). In the SEC, coaches don't need to just win, but win big, and the Tennessee game was a big let down.
I am interested to see who LSU gets. I honestly think that he is gone to UM.
(and he won a NC and took LSU to the Cotton bowl this year where they blew out TAMU.... We lost to UCF in the "Liberty Bowl" for christ's sake!!!!)

Best wishes Les. I think that you are making a mistake if you leave, but best wishes.

Right. He isn't leaving and Saban isn't going to be the Alabama coach.

wait...

Miles would be a fool to leave for Michigan, just like Rodriguez was a fool to leave WVU, where he had it made and could have stayed forever. Now he will never coach a school/team as good as either Michigan or WVU. Make your own dynasty, Les...you already have a great start...LSU will always be a top 10 football program, and you might even win another national title...but at Michigan, you will be fired before you even have a chance to find your own players! Besides, they have better food, better weather and much nicer people in the South...and I'm not even an LSU fan...

If Hoke was the guy they wanted, then he would already be there. I think Miles is getting a big pitch from them to head that way. I hope he takes it, seeing as I love Hoke where he is right now.

Michigan is too big of a rebuilding job right now. They have become like Notre Dame... Will probrably have to get a second or third tier coach to take this on. Les has it made and Michigan is too far down...

OK. Lets compare what LSU has coming back to the program and what Michigan has. Miles is not leaving LSU for freaking Michigan.
