Sources: Off-field concerns taint Mallett

07:08 AM ET 01.08 | Andrew Luck's decision to stay in school seems shocking now, since it just happened, but it's actually consistent with what the Stanford quarterback has said all along. The fallout? It seriously devalues Carolina's pick, the first one in the draft, which figured to be as marketable as any in recent memory. The first candidate would be Ryan Mallett, but sources say off-field concerns are likely to affect his stock.

I keep hearing about off-field issues with this guy, but never any example to back it up. I thinkit's the media making shize up and the bloggers jumping on it as gospel.

So who is the next team down the line in the draft in need of a QB? Perhaps we will then find the source of the supposed off-field issues rumor.....

Off the field problems or not, the guy can still sling it. I'm just not sure where he'll go in the first round. I don't see him going number one, but I do think he has more talent than Luck.

Well what are the off field issues? If you don't specify you don't have anything and just make it up.

Disagree Stu. He may have more physical talent than Luck until you add the part between the ears into the equation. Then Luck wins the talent contest IMHO.

Question.... What's the part between his ears thats difficient? I keep hearing this but no examples of what area is lacking or instances of him acting like Ryan Leaf Jr. I'm just curious as to what he has done to prompt the off the field issues.

Well as much as it pains me I'll be rooting for them too... I guess. I want the Jets gone, but then again I'd rather the Pats face the Jets than what most likely will be the Ravens. Either way it should be a fun game.
