11:11 AM ET 01.09 | LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva said Saturday he has had no contact from Michigan about Coach Les Miles, and that the school will do "everything it can" to keep Miles running LSU's football program. ESPN reporter Joe Schad posted on his Twitter account that sources told him Michigan wants to interview Miles, and it is expected to happen soon.

It would be sheer lunacy for Miles to leave the program that he has built at LSU for the program that RR tore down at Michigan.

I agree with you that RichRod tore the program down in Michigan, but saying that Les Miles built that program in LSU is forgetting about what Nick Saban did.
On a different note, Michigan needs to go after Brady Hoke.

Good point on Satan but Miles perpetuated and built on what he inherited. Two pretty coaches have come through that program in recent years haven't they?

This is like the movie Grounghog Day. Haven't we seen this from Michigan before?

Michigan is not chopped liver...
... Bo had a powerhouse and Lloyd Carr had them more than respectable.
Carr was one of those 8-3, 9-2 type of coaches... and Michigan wanted more for their team.
Quite frankly, they're accustomed to 10+ wins and top 10 finishes.
I can certainly see the logic in a Michigan alum wanting to return to such a prestigious university... academically and athletically.

I am with you. Michigan is an outstanding university with a rich athletic tradition. I just can't see the sense in a coach taking three steps back if he has any ambition at all.

Lets Not forget that Mr. Carr also won a National Championship.

In thirteen seasons @ Michigan Carr led the team to...wins/season... 9, 8, 12 (National Championship), 10, 10, 9, 8, 10, 10, 9, 7, 11 and 9 wins respectively. He compiled a record of 122 wins against 40 losses.

I am pulling for Brady Hoke. Did anyone read the article by Whitlock at Fox sports about Hoke?

Why is Brandon taking so long to talk to Miles and/or Hoke? First, it takes him 5 weeks (plus a wake up) to fire RichieRod, something that obviously needed to be done. Now they are deep into the recruiting season and he hasn't "officially" interviewed anybody that we know of. The journey back to respectability starts with THIS recruiting class! For a man who made big bucks running a company that used to offer delivery of a pizza in 30 minutes or less, he appears to be in slow motion. He seems like he is waiting for the phone to ring instead of actively going after a quality coach.

I hope Miles will stay at LSU. As a Michigan alum I could respect his departure. But he should stick with LSU a school with the brains, bronze, character, and attitude.

Michigan wasn't completely awful this year. They are returning a lot of offensive talent next year ( including Denard, hopefully). The defense was very young, but that doesn't excuse its complete ineptitude.

Yes the recruits are just sitting there wondering what direction is this Michigan team headed.

Eating a little grass is good, it keeps one humble. Some of the faded glories could benefit from some humility. It might help to restore their honor. Pride without honor is arrogance.
