08:04 AM ET 01.10 | Saying all the right things publicly, Kevin Kolb isn't satisfied with clipboard life. Kolb wants out if the Eagles plan to bring back Michael Vick as their starting quarterback, a source close to the situation said Sunday. Kolb, the Eagles' backup quarterback, will let coach Andy Reid know that during a scheduled Monday meeting, the source said. After four seasons of being mostly a backup, Kolb, 26, said he does not want to be on the sideline anymore.

He has no choice. He signed a contract. If he quits, he's still under contract and can't play with any other team unless he pulls a Brett and lies.

you have to wonder what was promised last summer when Kolb was the 'undisputed starter' (Reid's words) ... of course, that was before Vick was playing like an All-Pro.

Isn't his contract up? I thought both QB's were free...

After seeing Vick the past few games, he may have a better chance to start that most think.

Well you can wish in one hand & cr*p in another and see which one get's filled first.

Especailly with Vick hobbling off the field at the end of every game.

Where would he start? He must want to go back to College...

Nope. He signed an extension in April 2010 that has him locked through 2011.

I'm convinced.... It was just the Redskins defense that had him looking like Superman.

Sounds like he wants out, then.

It would probably be the best thing for him. I think the rest of the offense is sold on Michael Vick, and won't play as hard for Kolb. He would probably do better elsewhere. Of course, that assumes that he's really capable of being an every-week starter, and I don't think he's shown that yet.

Thanks - I didn't know that.

Consequently... he should shut up.

January 10, 2011  08:17 AM ET

Kolb would look pretty good in Titan puke blue about right now.....

January 10, 2011  08:18 AM ET

If he wants to start maybe he should think about playing better. At least more consistent.

January 10, 2011  08:18 AM ET

This will be an interesting off season for the Eagles...

January 10, 2011  08:19 AM ET

Look at it this way. Now, Michael Vick can play in the Pro Bowl.

January 10, 2011  08:20 AM ET

Meanwhile, they have to offer Vick another contract don't they?

I think it expires at the end of the season....

Do they electrocute him afterward?

Only if he loses.
