Miles speculation heats up

08:21 AM ET 01.10 | LSU officials may be "working to ensure" Les Miles' current contract "is enhanced" before Michigan swoops in, though Miles may be ready to listen to the U of M. A Michigan spokesman said Sunday that the school does not comment on any part of its search process. LSU Vice Chancellor for University Relations Herb Vincent said the school has not been contacted for permission to speak to Miles, although that is actually a courtesy instead of requirement in Miles' contract. George Bass, Miles' Dallas-based agent, did not respond to requests for comments on the situation Sunday. The official silence Sunday didn't quell the unofficial noise level, which included fans tracking planes used by the Michigan athletic department, one of which was parked at Dallas' Love Field.

T-minus three weeks until Signing Day. Michigan, it is now January 10th. Do you know where your recruits are?

It's a self-destructive attitude for sure, piratey. I think Brady Hoke would be a good choice for Michigan. But if the fans and alumni give him the cold shoulder right off the bat the same way they treated Rich Rodriguez, they're going to defeat him before he even has a chance to fix the problem.

Michigan's worst enemies are the enemies "within."

QUOTE(#2):

These fans are insane, people calling/writing in talking about how if it's Hoke they'll cancel season tickets/stop watching.

Sadly, the same probably would have been true with Florida fans if Steve Addazio was retained as OC. What others may call insane, here in the south we call it "passionate". :)

Hell no and it is the exact reason Miles will not take this job.

OK, I'm really not trying to be a wise-****. I'm genuinely confused as to why anyone thinks Michigan would be a step up from LSU. Can someone enlighten me?

You are right JRM. It is not a step up. Some people are delusional.

Agreed JRM -

I don't think a move will happen. LSU won their bowl, so Les is still the cat's meow. LSU is trying to show him the money right now.

"Anyone" would be the fans and alumni of Michigan. Most of the rest of us are just as dubious as you are.
