08:05 AM ET 01.11 | Wade Phillips believes his days as a head coach are over. Phillips has a career record of 82-61. But he said his playoff record (1-5) and his midseason season demise with the Cowboys, 11-5 in 2009, has likely ended his head coaching possibilities. "It's perception sometimes, more than reality," Phillips said. "I've won a lot of games, but I don't see me being a head coach again because of the perception."

No I'm sure there are some pee-wee teams somewhere that can use him.

i wish cam cameron would think like this and just focus on doing what he knows and can do well: being an OC and making plenty of $, too. the man is admittedly still thinking about being a HC again one day. let it go for now!!!!!
i'm sick and tired of my team losing coaches year after year and they just about all fail at their promotions once they leave (except for Rex Ryan so far as Jets HC).

OK, since no one has beaten me to it yet, I'll state the obvious: Phillips' days as a head coach were over a long time ago.

That's a damn good decision. They should have been over BEFORE you got the Cowboys gig.

In reality, Wad, you failed to adequately prepare your team this year and when the going got bad, they quit on you. The perception that you can coach exists only in your head.

Bottom line....he could not produce a title in 4 years with Dallas and that was arguably the best team he ever had...
So, if he wants to coach, it will be as a Coordinator.

There are a lot of head coaches who are much better off as coordinators. Too bad a lot of them don't realize it.

They don't even realize it when they've been fired 2 or 3 times.
