08:07 AM ET 01.14 | Wes Welker met with the media Thursday and may have kicked things up a notch in Jets-Patriots. [Welker] appeared in front of reporters for 10 minutes Thursday. During those 10 minutes, the Patriots receiver, who doubles as the team prankster, continued to reference feet. Some were about his feet, some were about other players' feet and others were cliche expressions. He made 10 mentions to feet or toes, using them all in the context of answers and never departing from his typical twang.

Nice work, Wes. Those NY media wags will love you for this.

If that's stepping things up a notch these writers are amazingly weak.

Uh oh.....

The agony of da feet

January 14, 2011  08:14 AM ET

Like he said, he's just being a good little foot soldier.

Those Jets fans get testy over feet jokes.....

Have you ever read the NY Post?

This little piggy went to market...this little piggy stayed home...and...whatever!!!

I wonder if the commentors for the Pats-Jets game will mention this four-letter word if the ref brings the sticks out of a first down measurement.

January 14, 2011  08:20 AM ET

The Jets will be trying to knock your feet out of your shoes Wes.

Can we just play the game already....this stuff is getting old quick

I concur, it was old before it started. Still though, I'm surprised at the amount of yapping the Jets do, given their last performance against the Pats.

This is kinda stupid... trying to make a story where there isn't one. I listened to the press conference and I'm about 99% sure Welker wasn't trying to say anything with his comments. Everytime he used feet or foot it was in a legitimate spot to say that we have all heard people say a million times before... I wish he was making fun of Fatty Fat and his wife's ugly feet... but sorry don't think he was.

the jets are so overrated. They barely beat the Lions (Took a miracle) then Cleveland took them to the limit. The jets are just a bunch of loud mouths, led by their coach. Even the though Hoodie told his players to be quiet I am glad Welker stepped up and said something. I would love to see another 45-3 trouncing.

Jackson -- appearing on ESPN 1050 Radio in New York -- told Cromartie to "[shut] up and play football."

"What are you talking about? What are you doing? Shut up, play football," Jackson said. "What are you talking about [Patriots coach] Bill Belichick and these people for? Spend your time looking at film, spend your time knocking down a pass. What are you doing? You???re not affecting Brady; you???re wasting time . . .

"Go look at the hardware, dude. Walk through the lobby up there and look at the [championship trophies that are] there. You don't have that, you don't have anything close to that."

"You might want to shut up, you might learn something. Read, you might figure something out. Watch film, you might get educated. If not, you have a chance to get embarrassed on Sunday. I hope you don't, because I like the Jets."
