Oregon's new court aims for iconic status

08:20 AM ET 01.14 | Oregon's new basketball facility debuted in earnest Thursday night, and it is unique. Rob Mullens, the current athletic director, said it looks better in person than it does in pictures (and on TV, where there is noticeable glare from the bright lights). And better than it did when he flew to Idaho to inspect a 10-by-20-foot section of floor this summer. "If you flip on a college basketball game and you see that floor, you're not going to have to guess where it is," Mullens said. "People were having similar conversations about our football uniforms several years ago, and I see more and more people being more innovative with their uniforms."

It looks like the muddle was left out in the sun and was bleached out in the middle by said sun.

Oregon is beginning to be mostly flash. They have had some butt ugly football uniforms and now this basketball court. The football team runs up the score on mediocre opponents but in enemic in the big bowl games (17 points in '10 Rose Bowl and 19 points in the '11 NC game).
