Door opens for McDaniels in St. Louis

08:04 AM ET 01.14 | Josh McDaniels interviewed with the Vikings nearly a week ago. Since then there hasn't been one word from Winter Park or the McDaniels camp. That silence might be coming to an end. ... There was a report earlier this week from the NFL Network that McDaniels could be a candidate with the Rams if [Pat] Shurmur did leave. It's also believed McDaniels could draw interest from the Atlanta Falcons if their offensive coordinator, Mike Mularkey, departs to take a head coaching job. St. Louis would be an attractive option for McDaniels -- the former Broncos coach who is considered a very good offensive mind -- because it would give him an opportunity to work with quarterback Sam Bradford.

Just keep him away from the personnel dept....he will try to trade Bradford and Steven Jackson for Tim Tebow

Just when the Rams seemed to be headed in the right direction...

But Tebow is the next coming. All praise the football messiah.

"Door Opens?" What the he## does that mean? They opened a door in Denver for him too, and told him to leave.

I am very surprised that I haven't heard his name linked to the open OC job in Kansas City. McDaniels' affinity for Matt Cassel is what led to Cutler ending up in Chicago.

I get the hate for this guy as a HC... might just something he isn'tcut out for,but he was pretty good OC in NE.... could be a good pickup if they limit him to just an Xs and Os guy.

agreed....he needs to go to a team with a lack of offensive creativity...panthers, 49ers maybe?

January 14, 2011  09:08 AM ET

Unless they are talking about McDaniels being the door greeter at Walmart in St. Louis, I don't like this.

and the recycling goes on. Most of these NFL owners wouldn't have a business if they hadn't inherited it.

If only Denver had realized that what they really wanted as Spags as the HC and McDaniels as the OC back when they interviewed them both.

He was already an OC with the Pats. I don't think any team lets staff go for a lateral move. Not without compensation. Unless his contract was up, and I doubt it.

Chiefs games would be worth watching for a change.

It may not have been actually doable, but it would appear that is where the two men belong.
