Cowboys finalizing Rob Ryan hire

09:20 AM ET 01.15 | The Cowboys have allowed three defensive coordinator candidates to leave the building for other jobs in recent days. The club was determined not to let that number grow to four. Rob Ryan and his representative are working on the final details of a contract that will make him the team's defensive coordinator. A source said Friday evening that the offer was extended after Ryan spent the majority of the day at the Cowboys' Valley Ranch facility.

He's a good coordinator. However, I thought that the Cowboys' problem was that, despite their talent, a lot of the guys simply didn't give their best effort. Their coach just didn't fire them up. Is Dallas going to run into the same problem with this new coaching staff?

For the Cowboys it really comes down to a lot of personnel changes on defense. FS,SS,a CB DL and LB. That about covers it. There will be a lot of roster turnover on that team. A lot.

JJ said a lockout would not be "devastating " to the NFL. So there is your starting point. The NFLPA is not real happy about that interview he gave. It was revealing though of the owners mindset.
