Reminds me of my freakin boss....46 years in that position, I got tired of waiting so I moved on...later I heard he died at his desk poor guy.....Man does not live by bread alone... Like Torre?

I like Frank Robinson. The guy was a baseball pioneer, breaking into MLB in the 50's during the Jackie Robinson era..and won the triple crown!! But he has always been a proud man who is quick to perceive slights. I recall how ticked off he was when the Nats didn't renew his contract a few years ago and it isn't like he had just taken the team to the playoffs.

Your calling Torre a "media and cash wh ore"? Have you looked at Robinson. He is the one after all running around talking about how "livid" he is.

Good point number ... eh, I lost count. Nevertheless, this seems like another mess involving Torre's name in an 'open/unopen' position. I realize that names of hires and replacements are often considered long before a position is in need, or even warrants, filling, but it should be kept on the down low. However, when it comes to Torre, people feel far too comfortable in sharing their thoughts and Torre himself appears far too eager to welcome them. It happened in Los Angeles, with the Mets and now with a MLB executive post. Unfortunately for Torre, Grady Little was the only one to take it and be quiet.

Millions of people didn't get the job this week they were hoping for either, Frankie. Sit down and shut up.
