You don't think of them as a collection of high priced superstars, but a league source said the Patriots had the highest payroll in the NFL at $148 million. A good chunk of that payroll went into the pockets of Tom Brady, who during the season signed an extension that made him the NFL's highest paid player.

Agreed. The difference is that the NFL actually enforces its salary cap. You can't "buy" a team in the NFL. The new CBA better keep it that way.

Apparently smart money because they seem pretty loaded with youth and draft picks too. They are the lesser of the evils in the AFC now, would love to see them light up a superbowl with GB in a shootout.
