For Turner's sake, Iguodala may have to go

08:22 AM ET 01.17 | Evan Turner, who has shown flashes of potential lately, may have his progress impeded by Andre Iguodala. Doug Collins says he can plug Turner in at the 1, 2 or 3 position. Still, the perimeter combination of Iguodala, Turner and Jrue Holiday has yet to show it works. It's just too much of the same. Something has to give and given Iguodala's sizeable contract, if a taker can be found he seems the likely candidate to move on. We have been here before but not with a logjam at the small forward position, which may be the driving force that gets an in-season trade done.

For those scoring at home Brand has 35mill (2 more yrs)left on contract and Iggy has 41mill (3 more yrs) left on his.(after this yr)

As stated by others Iggy can probably be moved easier that Brand. I'm sure they could move 1 or both if they were willing to put a 1st rd pick in the deal. That may be the price they have to pay to lose all that salary. I know this is the type of deal being widely reported that CLE is interested in, taking on someone's garbage contract using their trade exception but requiring a 1st pick also for doing so.

drafting darko in 03, trading billups for iverson, signing ben gordon, signing villanueva. dumars only bright spot was the 04 championship team that went to all those conference finals

IGGY for Calderon and Weems from raptors!

QUOTE(#19):

Iggy is just way overrated and inconsistent. He has no offense so it won't work in Dallas. Butler can create his own shot and is pretty consistent from the outside. Iggy does not have any of those. He is really great in fastbreaks but that's about it...

i didn't say he can replace butlers offensive skills but iggy works great on the break, jkidd could setup either on the break or backdoor lobs. Maybe dallas can still salvage the season and make some noise in the playoffs.

QUOTE(#22):

I didn't say you said it. I said it. He is way overrated for the money he is making. And we're saying the same thing about his only offense is the fast break but that's not what Dallas needs. Dallas needs somebody who can step up on a half court offense other than Dirk. Iggy can't do that...

i didnt say that you said i did lol reminds me of "dodgeball" yeah iggy cant setup shots for himself. he just never had that part of his game. i did see him crossover paul pierce that one game though. i didnt know he can do that. i would think of iggy as a bandaid for dallas, maybe they can ship haywood to philly

Trade him to the Knicks for Curry's expiring contract or somewhere else for draft picks and expiring contracts. The Sixers have no viable trades on deck that would make them anywhere close to a contender. Better to just build for the 2014 season when they can develop themselves to make a run.
