Griffin 'punks' Lakers

08:38 AM ET 01.17 | Blake Griffin has his admirers on the Lakers, but he didn't make many friends Sunday. With five seconds to play and the outcome decided, the Lakers' Lamar Odom took exception to Griffin's aggressive play while going for an offensive rebound. Odom tugged hard on the rookie's No. 32 jersey, whipping him out of bounds. The two then got into a heated face-to-face argument and were pulled apart by Lakers forward Ron Artest and Clippers guard Baron Davis. All four players were ejected. ... The Lakers neutralized Griffin in the first half; he scored just two points in the first 24 minutes. But he turned his game up a notch and began running through double teams to extend his streak of double-doubles to 25 games. "Blake just punked us," said Bryant, who led the Lakers with 27 points on 8-of-17 shooting and 10-of-13 at the free-throw line.

You know I always thought that kid's just flashy but I'm sold... they've got a decent team. If they can get a coach that will discipline the players and get them to be serious about winning they'll be something special. But then we've seen Clippers waste so much talent we wish Griffin leaves and heads to a good organization. Nothing will get accomplished with Sterlin in control... just like Bobcats with Jordan...

WHOA!!!! slow ya roll playa Griffin is a one man double-double machine no doubt and with eric gordon coming into his own they should cause problems in the west, but they're not they're yet..... they've still got a lot to do before being considered as a playoff contender...

Blake is good, but I've been watching the NBA too long to be ready to give the keys to the city just yet. I need to witness longevity before I buy into his hype.

Yup if he's still putting up 22 and 11 3 years from now then it'll be a fact that he's a great in this game but all a star dunker in this league needs one injury to the knees to **** up their career. just ask KG if he didn't sustain that injury he would still be putting up 19 and 9 on a daily basis...

Bumyn, Gasol and Odom are too slow for Blake. Next time they should just hack him. 60% FT shooter.

Gordon's shots from the stand with Kobe in his face, were the key though.

The Lakers don't seem to be able to go on the really long winning streak, they need to catch up and then overtake the Spurs in the standing ... a must to beat them in a 7 game series IMHO.

Come on guys, wake up! get tougher! get back the eye of the tiger! feel the urgency!

I was watchng the jets, so I didn't see the play, but how is going hard for a rebound 'punking' someone?

I don't think Kobe was referring to the end of the game scuffle, but to the lightning speed and explosive raw power w/ which Blake posterized the Lakers front line many times over.

Griffin pulled down 15 boards. Where was Odom for the other 14? Blake is the real deal. Nothing wrong with going all out until the buzzer. If Odom had done the same thing, maybe the outcome would have been different.

I've been complaining about this for a year. The Moderators don't seem to care. There has got to be a way to stop this. There is no reason at all for these posts to stay up all day.
