Pack WR slams Soldier Field

08:01 AM ET 01.18 | It wasn't long ago that Brian Urlacher was critical of his home turf, but he wasn't as critical as Greg Jennings. Jennings isn't a fan of the grass at Soldier Field, calling it "probably the worst" in the NFL. Jennings noticed Seattle receivers slipping as chunks of the field came up during the Seahawks' playoff loss in the snow at Chicago, and says the Packers will have to pay close attention to their footing in Sunday's NFC championship game. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the NFL will review the condition of the field to see if changes need to be made to make it more playable.

Put in Field Turf. Of course, the ownership is way to cheap to do that.

Field conditions are not going to affect one team more than another. Both teams are playing on the same field. With the projected high of 16 for Sunday, I think he should be more concerned with how it will feel when he hits the turf!

Funny, it was the BEARS complaining a month ago:
several players remain concerned.
??????If you???re going to preach player safety, you would think they would put you in the best conditions to be safe,??? said Bears safety Chris Harris. ???I don???t think an icy field is the best conditions.???
??????The biggest concern that players have is that we want to make sure the surface is not going to create more risk than there already is in the game, especially with the NFL right now being in such a forefront for player safety,??? added Bears kicker Robbie Gould. ??????Obviously, playing on a frozen field will create a little more risk for players.???

Therein lies the problem. Although not as bad as AstroTurf, the players aren't too fond of FieldTurf either. And resodding fields late in the season (especially in cold climates) has its own problems. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it's worse than just playing on the old dirt.

It is a level playing field, a sucky field for sure, but level.

It is the same for both teams. The Packers are already a cold-weather, outdoor team, and I recall the beating the Bears took against the Patriots a few weeks back. I'm guessing that the field hurts the Bears worse than the Pack. Mike Martz is still known for "The Greatest Show on Turf," an offense really more at home in a dome.

I'm glad that its the one being talked about and not Heinz Field. They just put that puppy down on Jan 2nd.

Tell that to the Bears secondary who have to cover guys who know where they want to go before the snap. It evens out.

actually the bears don't own Solider Field. the city of chicago does. they have little say and no final control over the type of field.
so while the ownership is cheap, this one isn't quite their fault.
<wonders how many times I have to post this same information before people start to get it...>

that was about playing at the university of minnisota, which is not ment to be played on in the cold winter months (ie - no heated field so the whole thing is like playing on concrete).
so please, try again.
