Pavano, Twins in holding pattern

08:26 AM ET 01.18 | As the Twins continue to lose relievers, a major target of their starting rotation remains an important storyline. The Twins and Carl Pavano appear to be in a temporary holding pattern, still close to a deal, but still with some details to hash out before he officially comes off the free agent market. The sides agreed to table the talks through Tuesday, allowing the Twins to focus on potential arbitration cases with Matt Capps, Francisco Liriano, Kevin Slowey, Glen Perkins and Delmon Young. The deadline for each side to submit its official arbitration offer is noon Tuesday, and that deadline annually spurs a flurry of negotiations.

Lose relievers? We didn't want Fuentes or Rausch. Pavano is good to go for MN, just like Thome was the whole time.

Pavano getting an extraordinary amount of T & R love, for some reason.

I took a big Pavano this morning, had to flush twice.

Seems to me that the Twins and Pavano are good to go, need to see what happens in arbitration to see what kind of money they have left to give Pavano. They will work it out,

Think the Twins might be a little worried about commiting long term to Pavano?
Look what happened the last time he was signed to a long term free agent deal.

Are you kidding me? Rauch was great last year, and would have been great for us this year (especially when 3 other great relievers are leaving). Fuentes was solid as well (a zero ERA in his time with the Twins)., especially considering we only have one other leftie reliever now...Sadly, this bullpen is awful looking right now, even if Nathan and Capps are as good as they can be.
