Dallas dismisses notion of dealing Dez

08:06 AM ET 01.19 | Almost as quickly as a report surfaced that Dallas would entertain trading Dez Bryant for a draft pick, the Cowboys dismissed it. When asked about the report about Bryant, Stephen Jones sent a reply back saying it was "totally wrong." And why would they trade Bryant even for a first round pick? For all the trouble he supposedly caused last season -- at least that's the point of view of former receiver Patrick Crayton whose shots at Bryant during a radio interview set the wheels in motion for the embellished trade talk -- Bryant is an unquestioned game breaker.

Why would they do that? If it were Roy, there's a WR worth dealing.

He's the most positive aspect of the Cowboys let alone that offense....

January 19, 2011  09:28 AM ET

And where the hell is the article? Did it get lost somewhere?

Agreed, too early to call him a bust.

I don't see how this got started... Must be a handful to deal with in the locker- room or something... This guy is a horse!

That sounds stupid! Why?

Things in Dallas must be so boring that they felt the need to put this out there.

If it were true, he's one Cowboy that the Redskins would GLADLY take.

You are right. He is the one thing they got right last year.

Or any team for that matter.

Amen

Jerry would be reviled in Dallas if they traded Dez.

That and firing Wade.

A report without foundation.

Good point.

Every team in the NFL will listen to offers about any player...it is bad business not to do so...

You never know when another Herschel Walker deal will pop up...

In reality, Dez is going nowhere.

Roy Williams has a 9mil salary this season that guarantees he will get cut, meaning, he might not return...hopefully Dallas resigns him for what he is worth and then goes into next season with Austin, Dez, Witten and Roy as our main targets.

Lazy reporters making up a story based on a disgruntled player. That's the state of journalism in 2011.

Are you sure the Redskins are that smart? I think Jerry's hoping to trade Roy Williams to Little Danny Snyder for a couple of first round draft picks.

Now that I could see happening.

Is Patrick Crayton STILL talking smack about Dallas? Geez, you're with the Chargers now, nobody cares that you have an axe to grind with Dez Bryant because he replaced you...
