08:08 AM ET 01.21 | Jeanie Buss stole a few headlines while promoting her book Thursday. The word "contraction" has been a screeching alarm in the NBA this season with the lack of a new collective bargaining agreement, but that didn't stop [Buss] from being open to the idea of removing some franchises in a Wall Street Journal interview to promote her book, "Laker Girl." "I would hate to see us lose teams, but I think contraction is something we have to consider," said Buss, who is on the NBA's labor relations committee and is the Lakers' executive vice president of business operations. "We may be in some markets we shouldn't be in."

She's doing Phil Jackson....that's a market that you don't want to be in

The MN market is bad right now. We've had the worst team in the NBA for almost 20 years, and NEVER had a #1 draft pick. Or a #2 draft pick. We may have had 1 #3 pick. And recently teams like CHICAGO & PORTLAND have gotten #1's. We have fans that will come out & see a winner but we constantly get skewed over by the draft lottery.

And McHale was a total waste of time at GM. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.

The first team she would like to see disappear, the clippers so they can sign Blake

I think Lebron, Wade & Bosh are to blame for all this. The league would have been in much better shape if Lebron was in Minnesota, Wade went to the Clippers and Bosh justs stayed in Canada. Of course that's what happens when all the stars collude on one team.

Tell that to the owners that will get contracted. I bet Bus and the league will not compensate them if it ever happens. Believe it will not happen at all. Move a team, yes, contract the league, not happening.

I hate to kick you while you're down but history suggests that the T-Wolves with a #1 pick would be like a dog chasing a car in the sense that if they actually got one they wouldn't have the slightest idea what to do with it.

And please tell me .... What Great player was drafted after Laettner ...

4 Jimmy Jackson (SG) Dallas
5 LaPhonso Ellis (PF) Denver
6 Tom Gugliotta (PF) Washington
7 Walt Williams (SF) Sacramento
8 Todd Day (SG) Milwaukee
9 Clarence Weatherspoon (PF) Philadelphia
10 Adam Keefe (PF) Atlanta

Laettner seemed like a good idea at the time I guess.

His most famous quote from his T-Wolves days was in his rookie year when he walked into the locker room after (another) loss & pointed at each teammate saying 'loser' and then finally pointing to himself & saying 'winner.'

Gugliotta was 100 times the player Laettner was for the Wolves.
