08:23 AM ET 01.24 | So much for absence making the heart grow fonder. New Royal Jeff Francoeur played parts of 2009 and 2010 with the Mets and was never a fan of the ballpark, summing up his feelings like this: "Citi Field is a ... joke." Francoeur delivered the diss in an interview that appeared Friday on the Kansas City Star's baseball blog, noting that last season he crushed a drive to right-center that went 415 feet and hit the wall. "That's pretty frustrating," said Francoeur, who hit .249 at Citi over the last two seasons. Potential bad news for Francoeur: his new home, Kauffman Stadium, can be tough on hitters, too.

Francoeur is the joke but i'm sure he'll be crying in KC too.

At least no one will hear him in KC.

Isnt this the same guy that got traded for Joaquin Andujar?? Who the &*%$ is Joaquin Andujar?????

During Sept and October, Ruben Tejada (all 45 lbs of him) had a higher slugging percentage than this guy. Any questions???

If Citi field had hands, it would slap Francoeur.

Jeff Francoeur ??? really.

Exactly. This dope has the nerve to call anyone or anything else a joke?

Citi Field is a joke! Only because the Mets play there!

Jeff seems to be bouncing around from one team to the next these days. What's up with that Jeff?

You have been exiled to KC.

Mecche says you can't pay people to play there...

Not shocking considering there isn't a stadium in the MLB that Francoeur can hit in. The good news KC fans, He's a great clubhouse guy!

One pitcher stupid enough to give him a first pitch fastball and he still can't hit it out! Which would have given him what 9 dingers? My seven year old works pitchers better.

I loved Frenchy on the Mets. Great attitude. You know you're going to get mediocre-at-best offensive stats from him, but he plays a great right field. I'm sure he was baited into this. Every hitter who isn't that good is going to be frustrated with a park like Citi Field. I've got nothing against what he said and I hope he can put a good season together in KC.

Jeff fooled me. I'm a Mets fan who thought we were getting rookie sensation Jeff when the Mets traded for him in 2009. That wasn't the case.

Jeff's a good dude, but he can't play. Regardless of what field you play on, swinging at pitches a foot and a half outside of the strike zone is not going to end well.

He could probably throw one over the fence with that cannon of an arm; as far as popping one out, not so sure.
