08:09 AM ET 01.25 | A Hall of Famer on the court may be looking to end his front office career on a high note. Larry Bird was one of the best clutch players the game has ever seen. So with Bird perhaps nearing the final months of his three decades in the NBA, wouldn't he look for a final shot? Of course. With the expiring contracts of Mike Dunleavy ($10.56 million), T.J. Ford ($8.5 million) and Jeff Foster ($6.66 million), Indiana is finally in position this summer to have oodles of cap room. But Bird, the Pacers president, said his preference is to use his assets to swing a deal by the Feb. 24 trade deadline to acquire a key player. "I would do that," Bird, 54, who is contemplating retiring from the NBA after this season, said in an interview with FanHouse.

He said Anthony CAN do better than that not that he IS doing better. And possibly pigs CAN fly if thrown properly.

Maybe the "Big 3" should have let the Heat management in on the whole hooking up thing three years ago before that draft...LOL

I'm pretty sure they are banking on the fact that the expiring contracts will free up close to 25m in cap space. I'm sure there are teams out there that would be willing to part with some semi-decent players for that type of cap relief.
