08:14 AM ET 01.25 | Though it's unlikely there will be another installment of The Decision, Deron Williams may be next in the running to host one. There's no point in sugarcoating it. When this Carmelo business is done, you're on the clock, Utah. Deron Williams ain't especially happy, and as every NBA fan should know by now, an unhappy star makes for a vulnerable team in the Age of LeBron. ... "My contract's up in two years. It's a now or never situation. I don't know what I'm going to do after this one." Gulp. Williams has not said what he will do in the summer of 2012, only that he won't have a half-hour program to announce his intentions.

Lord...I guess at most news reporting sites today instead of writing about current topics you instead invent a story that MIGHT happen in 2 or 3 years.....

Deron, Dwight and CP3 all become available at the same time. Maybe all 3 will join together in Toronto and make a new superteam?

LOL....Or with the Nyets in their new Brooklyn home!!!!

Wonder if there has ever been a team with two elite PGs... So who handles the ball on this team you propose? I don't see D-Will or CP3 shifting part-time to the 2 position...

The unfortunate thing for my Jazz is that Sloan retiring and DWill's contract expiring are going to be happening at about the same time. If Sloan was going to stick around a few more years, I think DWill would too. The Jazz are actually playing significantly worse (particularly on the defensive end and on the glass) since Okur came back into the lineup, so they've got to figure out a way to make that work. The good news is with Kirilenko's contract expiring, they're going to have a lot of cash to bring in some help.

D Will's a great player and had done a lot for the Jazz, but you can tell in post game that he's getting tired of what's currently going on.

Maybe Kirilenko's move makes it possible to pay Williams what he wants.

Imo, dwill is more valuable than melo

Definitely agree with that one. Deron is carrying the Jazz, averaging more minutes and points than he ever has in the NBA. Assists are down, though. That's not good news. They need to make a run for a good wing player, as has been discussed on this thread already. I think that the Jazz, as long as Sloan stays the HC, aren't going anywhere.

Okay, Amare, Carmelo, and Derron! Go Knicks!!! LOL. just joking!!!

That's a very open ended statement... he's more valuable just because he's a point guard? Take the great supporting cast he's had his whole career away and who knows what will become of him. What if he was drafted by Clippers instead.

If I'm building a team from scratch and I had to choose between Melo and D-Will I'd go with Melo. Nobody scores better than him.

Come to LA, Bro.

You better be. Lostwill has already set aside a roster spot for Dwight Howard.

Hahaha... my next free agent wishes are Melo and Dwight. We can get by with Felton and Douglas for now.

Yes. Sloan, like Lebron isn't destined to win a championship.... how long has been coaching Utah... like 50 years?. However they will get you in the playoffs and make their owners pockets fat. Money cows indeed they are.

January 25, 2011  09:49 AM ET

The "superstar" players are conspiring to build an 8-team NBA. Might as well chop off the fat and drop the other 22 teams into the NBA DL.

Even with more money D Will still needs an all star wing player who can get his own shot and hit three's.And without that the jazz remain the same old team for the last 4 years.

I think they messed up when they let Wesley Mathews go to Portland.
