08:44 AM ET 01.25 | The Rockies appear to be moving on from veteran lefty Joe Beimel. Beimel told The Denver Post on Monday that the Rockies aren't among the teams pursuing him. That leaves 2010 call-up Matt Reynolds and talented but erratic Franklin Morales as the two likely left-handers in the bullpen. Beimel was fantastic in the first half of last season, holding opposing hitters to a .202 batting average before the all-star break. But his late-season struggles -- opponents hit .351 against him after the break -- and the emergence of Reynolds, convinced the Rockies' front office to go young.

.351 for half a season!? That's like pitching to Boggs, Gwynn, Pujols, etc. every batter! Yeah, it might be time to move on.

Colorado is looking good for this season. If the starting pitching after Jimenez is average or better, then I think the Rockies take the division.

I'll kinda miss Beimel. If nothing else, Johnny Cash's "God's Gonna Cut You Down" is by far the best walk-up song in the majors. Especially great for a relief pitcher.
