08:07 AM ET 01.27 | Mickey Loomis has no doubt Drew Brees will return to the Saints, but the same can't be said for Reggie Bush. While not offering specifics, Loomis said Wednesday that a contract extension will ultimately be finalized with Brees. ... "I know that will happen at some point. He knows that will happen at some point." Loomis, though, didn't make the same strong commitment when asked about Bush. Although a big-name player and key part of the team's 2009 Super Bowl run, Bush is set to earn $11.8 million in 2011. He also is coming off an injury-plagued 2010 campaign. Bush has publicly said he is willing to renegotiate his exorbitant rookie contract to remain with New Orleans, which made him the No. 2 overall pick in the 2006 draft. The question now is whether Saints management wants him and at what price.

We'll see just how much he wants to stay with the Saints if another team offers him anywhere close to what he's making right now

If you get him you get the Kardashians. Or did they break up again? Eh!!!

January 27, 2011  09:09 AM ET

There will be a lot of teams that want him and could use him.

He is a decent player but in no way worth 11 mil unless Kim agrees to keep a select number of us entertained during the season.

Bush is not worth the money he will probably command. Yes, he is a good weapon... but really he is just a really really damn good 3rd down back. A younger, better Kevin Faulk. Bush will probably be subbing for Lynch in Seattle next year anyways. As much as it kills me to say this (Bush being a USC alum and all) but I'd like to see him take over for Faulk in that role next year in NE.

Then again Woodhead is doing as good of a job as Bush probably could...so nevermind.

Let' see...a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...hmmm. The Seahawks!!!

So long Reggie....

Maybe the Saints will offer Woodhead $11M if he becomes a FA

would that be Kim and Chloe?

January 27, 2011  09:32 AM ET

He'd have to take a LOT less money for the Saints to keep him. He should try Seattle.

January 27, 2011  09:37 AM ET

He can help a team when healthy but that's the problem seems like he is always hurt. I say let him go and find a more durable back.

January 27, 2011  09:37 AM ET

I think the Saints will shop him. Good player, not great. I think his injuries spell doom for his late 20s.

I can see the headline: Bush, Kim and Khloe take Seattle by storm (because it always rains there)!

A key part of the SB run? I don't see how he was more important than anyone else on that team, much less a 'key' part. He was held out of most of the NFC championship game because he was so nervous, and in the SB he had a decent game like the rest of the team, but what made his 2009 season a 'key' part? He is a good 3rd down back and decoy, but just a good player, not worth it for that money.

Thank God! She's too busy talking about tennis on the Pouncy thing. Ugly women. What can you do.

Pay Bush 6-8M and be done with it. Highest paid decoy in the league is worth every penny. There's a reason the Saints didn't have as many big plays this year, not the Reggie was the one making them, giving favorable matchups across the field. Payton won't let him leave.

He is lucky to be drafted as high as he was. He is a slot receiver more than a running back. He won't make GREAT money no matter where he goes. I could see a few teams that might try and pick him up as a returner/slot receiver/wannabe running back, but not for anywhere near what he will want. His ego is as inflatted as the Kardashian body parts.
