08:55 AM ET 01.27 | Vladimir Guerrero's name is again a trending topic in Baltimore. With the market for Guerrero seemingly slimming by the day, the Orioles have had recent conversations with the agent for the veteran slugger, but they still don't feel they are close to a deal. "We've had some conversations, but there is nothing on the horizon," said Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail, declining to characterize his team's chances of landing the nine-time All-Star.

Vlady! NY will take you, but not until mid season when someone goes down.

Seriously. I can't imagine what team would take him and start him at DH at this point. I don't even think the Orioles really need him. His stock has fallen fast, which, given his numbers from this past regular season, is a little shocking.

You know you're not wanted when you're only viable option is to sign with the O's.

He is still a very capable player....

He had an excellent year with the Rangers.

He fell off a cliff the second half, still, someone may get a steal by signing him cheap, or get burrned...

Didn't Luke Scott hit 35 or so HR's last season.... DH is not the O's problem. First (where Scott is terrible), 3rd, LF, CF, and the pen are problem spots for Baltimore.

Oops! Wow Scott only hit 27.... I guess they could use an upgrade there.

Vlady is beginning to look more and more like this offseasons Jermaine Dye. Dye of course refused to sign with anybody for less than $5M/year and subsequently found himself on the unemployment line and has been out of baseball ever since.

Good analogy So Cal Fan, agreed.

And lets not forget, Jermaine Dye could still play a little bit of defence... what Vlad does in the outfield these days is frightening.. He needs to sign with someone who will pay him anything for a year and try again next year to find a better deal.

I would take Vlad over Manny any day of the week...

Seconded.. Manny is a waste of space at this point. Course he has been exiled to Tampa Bay so within a year or two he should fade off into the abyss.

And twice on sunday's?

Considering Tampa Bay made the playoffs I wouldn't call that an exile. Dudes playing this year for his baseball life so expect decent numbers from Manny. Exile would be more like Vlad ending up in Baltimore,, exiled to last place,,,,,
