08:24 AM ET 01.28 | According to GM Chris Antonetti, Grady Sizemore has been hitting and throwing, and he's close to starting a running program -- but he's not close to being traded. Early this week an Internet rumor said the Indians were talking to the Nationals about trading Sizemore and No. 1 starter Fausto Carmona. Antonetti usually doesn't address rumors, but he did Thursday after a fan asked about it. "We have not had a single discussion about potentially trading Grady Sizemore," Antonetti said. "There are teams that call us all the time to ask us about our players. They'll ask about almost everyone on our roster at different points in the off-season, but I can tell you at no point have we contemplated trading Grady and we have no intention of trading Fausto, either."

He has been hurt the past two years and is coming off surgury... not sure they could get much in trade right now at least not till he proves he is healthy.

This means the trade will occur tomorrow....guaranteed. LOL

I'm sure Injun fans are breathing a sigh of relief now.

QUOTE(#7):

I think Carmona is going to improve on last season, which was pretty damn solid. There were only seven AL pitchers who pitched more innings with a lower ERA. I think a lot of the struggles he faced in '08 and '09 were due to the massive increase in innings from '06 to '07 -- 125% more. I think he finally got his feet back under him last year. He's under contract through 2014, so I would be surprised if the Indians traded him for anything less than a ridiculous load of prospects. However, you never know. Whether with the Indians or not, I wish him luck. I'm a fan of his for the amazing 2007 season he had, including Game 2 of the ALDS in which he pitched, in my opion, the best single start performance in the 2007 playoffs. He also kicked Gary Sheffield's **** in 2008, so you've got to like that. Unless, of course, you're Gary Sheffield or his grandma.

Carmona cheap shotted my boy! Racism!
-Gary Seffield's Mom

Latin players are easier to control. they controled him to attack me. Racism!
-Gary Sheffield

I never knowingly used, Gary is my friend. It is definately racism, and a conspiracy by the Gov't to keep me and Gary down.

both are candidates for a trade for a rebuilding Indians club. especially sizemore if his contract ends in 2012. teams will take a chance on him hurt or not hurt. he's was a more than legit top of the order guy with 20+ bombs and 20+ steals and would run through a wall to go after a ball.

That's the truth. Considering my concerns about his health, and the fact that he's only under team control through 2012, if they could get something good for him based on his reputation, I wouldn't mind if they pulled the trigger.I imagine he'll be traded by the deadline or next off-season unless the Indians show some miraculous improvement this year.I'll miss him.

I hope they don't pull the trigger Sizemore is my favorite player on the Tribe. They keep trading all my favorite players it gets depressing fast and I know it's because of the money issue and all that but it definitely sucks to be a fan of all these players and they don't stay too terribly long on the team.

Sizemore will go through a wall for you and is why he's recovering from microsurgery. I liked the hustle Sizemore brought and the extremes at which Carmona went through to come back. However, the tribe could lose a ton of salary with these guys. That and IF they were to pick up the best the Nationals had to offer in the minors would make it a good deal.

However, it's not happening. With a more contract friendly Brantley in the LO spot, I could see the Tribe trying to peddle Sizemore for the right price. Carmona, the tribe owns his rights for what? about 4 more years?

Until we are 19 and 53 in late June.

Ya it's a heartbreaker for sure hope they can find a way to keep them both...I really think Laporta has been kind of a dissapointment but it is still early. Hope they can turn this season around and improve
