Not a Crosby or Penguins fan at all. But I hope he doesn't have a career of injuries like Lindros and many others that had shortened NHL careers.

Looking forward to the skills competition and All Star game.

I hope TSN has hours of footage of Crosby riding his bike.

He better make sure his helmet is on...

Lindros got his concussions from skating with his head down. Sid got his concussion from cheap shots. But I had that thought in the back of my mind. I hope this doesn't make him more susceptible to concussions in the future.

Hedman was a cheap shot...Steckel's wasn't. I live in Pittsburgh and I'm a huge fan of Crosby but I never let hometown bias blur reality. And, let's face it, Hedman's hit was borderline.

Nice to see a Flyer's fan given some love across state. I'll always remember you guys chanting "one more year" for Mario in '97 when he retired for the first time after the Flyers knocked the Pens out of the playoffs and also giving Mario a standing ovation in '93 during the pregame skate in his first game back from radiation treatments.

Pens can make the playoffs with or without him. Sounds like they need an enforcer so the 'artists' will think twice.

Cut it out. Should we put a red jersey on him, so no one can hit the precious pumpkin?

Hedman's hit was no different than what Matt Hunwick just did to Savard last week. It's hockey, not soccer.
Crosby will be fine if they give him enough time to let his brain heal. If Pittsburgh gets greedy and brings him back too soon or get's foolish and let's him decide when he's coming back, they are taking a huge risk.
They should shut him down for a considerable length of time. Let him start skating in March with an eye towards the last 10 games of the regular season and the playoffs.
Have him talk to Marc Savard, that's what I'd do.

Why? Kessel would still end up getting picked last. Can't believe they gave the Tin Man a car and money for charity for that "accomplishment".

Of course not. The league should still do a better job protecting the players, all of them, from blows to the head.

Not that the **** and his equally clueless lackeys will do anything about it.

LOL. Funny thing about it Stranger was they already had the registration filled out.
And is "Teenage Boys Who Want to Figure Skate" really a charity?

How? Are you going to penalize inadvertent contact? Give a guy a penalty because he finished his check on a guy who attempted to duck by him like Savard did last week? Had savard not crouched a bit to weasel under Hunwick's check, he would have been hit in the shoulder instead of the head.
What I want is equal justice for everybody. I don't care to see them change a rule because a superstar got dinged and I absolutely hate seeing star players get away with infractions because of who they are.

Can someone tell me why Kessel is on the All Star team?

Speaking of the ****, it was pleasantly surprising not to see his greasy little smirk last night. Although I did have my garden gnome/english translation dictionary ready just in case.

Can't really print that here Rex but suffice it to say Burkie had chapped lips after his last visit to the NHL offices.
