10:26 AM ET 01.29 | Is dealing Sergei Gonchar fantasy or reality before the Feb. 28 deadline? League sources say Senators GM Bryan Murray is trying to move Gonchar, who was Ottawa's biggest free-agent signing last off-season. While the names of defenceman Chris Phillips and winger Jarkko Ruutu have been bandied about on the trade market for months, Gonchar's availability has only just surfaced and comes as a bit of a surprise.

Thanks for the help. I've been taping them to the fridge.

I must say though I am enjoying the relatively spam free threads. Good on ya for that.

The lack of Spam has been nice.

Looked up Gonchar's stats and he has 6 goals and 15 assists with a minus 17. That is slightly worse than he did last year with the Pens but it is typical of how he has performed. Frankly I wouldn't give up a case of Coors Lite for him.

What if the Senators promised to give you back the empties?

I fully agree. You think it's going to last?

Yep, GMs all over the league are tripping over each other to have a chance at grabbing Gonchar!

I bet this isn't attached to his resume....

Hmmmmm. I'd have to think about it then.

That was a classic Gonchar move Canuck. That's why I didn't want the Pens to bring him back this year and why I don't miss him one little bit. Letang can score as well as Gonchar, but he can also play defense. Gonchar has no concept of where he is supposed to play when he is in his own zone.

I hear the Leafs are interested.

Not only did he fall on his own accord, he took the other D-man down with him. Next stop, the KHL.

You said that at 1:15pm and the spam went up at 7:05pm so 5 hours 50 minutes. Think of spammers as cockroaches. Once you have 'em, you really can't get rid of them all, ever.

Not watching any games for 4 days or so really recharges me for the second half.

Plus no football either. The sporting doldrums. I've had to make do with tennis from Down Under.

Actually this is the time of year I really start paying attention to the NHL.

NFL is done next week and I can get down to some serious hockey viewing. So I can get in shape for the 4 games a night (or more) playoffs where I never miss a game.

I say Kanata will tolerate only about 10 years less of bottom-feeding than the Wong Islanders fans have before virtual emptiness sets in.

Kno-wat-chu-mean all the, games start early, especially out here. Some of these F/N writers haven't seen guys getting knocked on their behind yet with all these teams so tight where one win gets them in. Fun time.
