Duck's Bertuzzi feeling better

Todd Bertuzzi has felt like himself the last three days, but he knows his real test is ahead. Bertuzzi hasn't appeared in a game for the Ducks since Oct. 14, when he suffered a concussion as a result of an open-ice hit by Minnesota Wild enforcer Derek Boogaard. When Bertuzzi plays next remains undetermined. Over the last three weeks, recurring headaches and dizziness have prevented him from resuming his off-ice workouts. Bertuzzi watched practice Sunday. He said he has not had any of the headaches that plagued him the last two weeks. The Ducks are taking a cautious approach to the health of the forward, whom they signed to a two-year, $8-million deal in July when it was apparent that Teemu Selanne was strongly considering retirement.

Concussions are real tough to play...you just never know when the symptoms are going to go away. The Ducks are struggling out of the gates right now, so I'm sure they wouldn't mind having Bert back in the line-up, but at least they are being smart and letting him get his head straight. If he's lucky, this conky erased the part of his brain that never recovered from the Moore incident and he can get back to playing hockey the way he used to...

Who cares? The bigger question is, how is Steve Moore feeling?

November 5, 2007  11:23 AM ET

Bertuzzi is a gutless peice of s hit.

I hope he lives in pain.

He should be banned from playing until Moore is cleared to come back.

Puleeeeze....

Tell you what Bert - when Moore can live a normal day without having the same feelings you are having I will begin to have a tiny bit of compassion for you - until then tough s&%^! Now you know how it feels maybe you can make a somewhat more believable attempt to apologize to the man who's life you completely shattered. You should be sitting in a jail cell not playing hockey.

I'm glad it was my boy Boogy that put him out. All I can say is don't mess with Boogy or you will get hurt and he showed that.

Wow. Yet another injury prone guy!! He barely played with Florida due to injuries and now he has missed 3 weeks in Anaheim. WHy the heck did they give him so much money! Yashin would have been a better choice over him and that's streching it!!!!

His stint won't last long, I'm sure Bert and the ducks have a couple more games to play against Minny and the boogy man. I'm looking forward to seeing Boogaard crush him all the way to next season.

Doesn't matter how he's feeling. He'll never regain his form. After the Moore thing he's been scared to play hockey. Looks good on Burke, doesn't he? (DC)

Rock:

You are 100% wrong.

Bertuzzi jumped on his back, rammed his head into the ice and punched him when he was down.

It was hands down the most gutless thing that I have ever seen in sports.

Bertuzzi's a bum. Seriously this guy would be best off retiring. BUM

No ROCK I don't think it was the punch - I think it was when he RAMMED his head into the ice adnt ehn punched it again for good measure. If you watch the video he doesn't move from that point on. So really you are saying he was fine and it wasn't Bertuzzi's fault (I guess that it why they have extended a settlement offer - which was rightfully turned down) but everyone elses fault - probably one of his own players right? Get a clue!
