Broncos optimistic about Cutler

A day after being carted off Ford Field, Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler received good news. He has a chance to play Sunday at Kansas City in a game the Broncos (3-5) must win to stay in the AFC West race. Cutler's chance to play improved immensely when an MRI exam Monday revealed he did not suffer a hairline fracture when he was knocked out of the Broncos' 44-7 loss Sunday at Detroit. Although the Broncos are optimistic about Cutler playing against the Chiefs, they will hold off on a decision until late in the week. Cutler will receive treatment today and attempt to practice Wednesday.

I can't believe how poorly this team has performed all year. I haven't had the chance to actually watch a game of theirs yet, so I am stuck for a reason, but Cutler has to be a big part of it, no? The defence is giving up an awful lot of points as well. What happened in Denver?

November 6, 2007  08:08 AM ET

denver was bound to have an off season sooner or later, broncos have been too solid for too long.

November 6, 2007  08:21 AM ET

They have had a Poor Defensive Line for years. DJ Williams is playing out of Position and without Al Wilson, they Suck plain and simple. LOLB Webster is Garbage. ROLB Gold is okay but needs more help. The Defensive line is going to get help and they will probably go after DT Glenn Dorsey.

If they could add Dorsey and a Solid MLB in the Offseason.....They could be much improved. They also need a SS and FS. Lynch can't play much longer and Ferguson just is a Special teams player at best.

The Offense will be okay if they can get a little younger on that offensive line and a No. 2 WR to go along with Marshall and Stokley.

Well, I guess you gotta be optimistic about something.

November 6, 2007  10:39 AM ET

America's Legend, do you even watch football or did you just scan the Broncos roster for names?

here is what is wrong with your entire comment
#1- Find a WR to go with Marshall and Stoakley? Ever heard of Javon Walker? The teams #1 WR

#2- They spent 3 picks in THIS years draft on the D line, and added Simeon Rice. No way they use a #1 pick on Dorsey, not to mention Dorsey is a top3 pick and while my Broncos aren't doing well they aren't that bad. Look for them to trade up into the top 10 and draft James Lauranitis a true MLB

#3- Webster and Lynch have been out, so I don't know that that is a knock on thier play.

November 6, 2007  11:37 AM ET

This is funny.

Okay bro....Here we go.

#1-Javon Walker is almost 29 years old. He has been out with Season Ending Injuries two out of the last 3 seasons. So you might need to start looking for a Young, longterm replacement.

#2- They Spent their First rounder on DE Jarvis Moss, Florida, who is out for the Season, He can't Stop the Run. The 2nd rounder Thomas Crowder, Texas is okay, he will be good in the future. DE Simeon Rice, Indiana 6-5 260 is almost 35 years old. He has never stopped anyones running game. The Denver Broncos have to have DT's that can stop the run and get pressure up the middle. NT Sam Adams, Texas A&M- is not doing anything, Gerrard Warren Florida-was traded, DT Jimmy Kennedy from Penn State is a Bust and a scrub. They need help in stopping the RUN ON THE DEFENSIVE LINE. THEY WILL BE FINE IN A COUPLE OF SEASONS AT DE....BUT NEED HELP AT DT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#3- Nate Webster came out of Miami as a Stud, he was Ray Lewis's Successor to MLB at Miami........Quickly became a DUD in the NFL with the Bengals. He can't stop the run and over pursues too much....Lynch is one of the Greatest and has played all but the last few games....He is almost 35. They need young Help and Quick.

The Broncos MUST Get some DT's to stop the run. They will have DE talent to get the QB but this is why they are 32nd against the Run. Out of position Linebackers (Nate Webster and DJ Williams)........Simeon Rice helps no one against the run.

If you really want to go on, I can go all day about the Broncos Scheme, Every player on their roster, along with all other 31 teams, Backgrounds....and Coaching. I know the game more than 95% of the World's Population. Don't even think that you can out do me.....

By the way, It must be all that Sand in your @@@...........Iraq sucks and I am glad I went to one of the Stans....

Yip,

I have to say that this is one of the more fruity football pics I have ever seen. The AP photo of the Giants field goal kicker, booting the ball last week was still fruitier though.
