08:08 AM ET 02.01 | Phil Jackson admitted Monday that he's alarmed by his team's play, and Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak may have had enough. Kupchak told NBA.com that the recent poor play by the two-time defending champions may drive him to make a trade to shake up an underachieving roster. "Regarding a trade, I may have to," Kupchak said at the team's practice facility a day after the convincing loss to their heated rivals, the Celtics. "I'm not saying that I've made calls today or I'll make them tomorrow. But I just don't think that we're playing as well as our talent level should allow us." Even speaking in his usual measured tones, Kupchak's disappointment and frustration were obvious.

Yeah thats what I was getting at...The only guys with REAL value on that team are KEY players so I dont know what they are going to trade....Did West take over the Clippers and he is trading them Gordon and Griffin for Brown and Ratliff

I dont see them making a big trade or trading Odom....The Triangle is hard to learn on the fly and if they make a deal those new guys will just be stuck in the mud trying to learn it...I guess if they could give Walton up for Jamison they would do that...

If ur Cavs you have nothing to lose. Having a Laker on your roster may draw more stars plus if it means shedding Jamison and Mo's contracts why not. They should look into trading Odom and Artest for Melo and maybe convince Melo to take the mid level exception next season.

hahaha!! melo said no to 65m for three years. You think he will play for 5 million? The league cant allow that trade for the money reasons alone

The Lakers lethargy is more a symptom of too many games than anything else. They really need to shorten the regular season.

are u effin kidding me? its not even halfway through the season, guy. And its not like all the other teams don't play the same amount games. Gee I wonder who's a Laker apologist.

they're not hungry anymore, they're old. I see weakness where I havent seen it before. I predict this won't be the Laker's year.

This looks like the celtics year, or possibly the spurs

I know its been a while since you've had a winning team so i'll let you in on a little secret. Reg. season success means ZERO. Its about as open a year as any I can remember.

What team wants Odom? He mentally checks out of half the games.
