Tiger Woods has officially lost his spot as the most powerful athlete in the world, according to Bloomberg Business Week's annual Power 100 ranking. Colts quarterback and American advertising sweetheart Peyton Manning took over the top spot, with snowboarder Shaun White grabbing second place and Woods sliding into the third spot.

"Sex scandals tend to hurt earnings and unquestionably damaged Woods' performance," said Bloomberg Business Week, "Unless he can regain his game - and the trust of fans and advertisers - his earnings are likely to keep plummeting."

He has his work cut out for him. He not only needs to rehabilitate his personal life, but also his public and professional lives as well.

I saw Shaun White in an airport recently. He looks like that Zuckerberg guy from Facebook, except for the hair.

That does stink to lose out to the snowboarder but the sex scandals have to be killing him. Not to mention that right now his golf game is horrible.

tiger will likely win a few here and there, but his glory days are done. jack's majors record is safe. not even tiger can overcome the mess he created for himself and his $100 million/yr endorsements are likely to continue dropping over the course of his declining career.

Wake me up when there's something worthwhile going on in the world of Tiger Woods.

Shaun White? I thought this was a SPORTS site, not a hobby thread.

Shaun Who ??? How can a guy have marketing power if no one in the market has heard of him? Tiger is a proven **** but at least we know who he is.

It's all about popularity.

Wood's is in the dregs and I don't think you'll ever see him on top again. Even if he were to get his game back, which I doubt because of his knee, the only people that will worship him are the same ones that worship him now--the media. End of story. He's a pariah now.

Give me Michelson any day. You can tell the guy likes people, he's personable, he's thoughtful and fun. He doesn't slam his clubs into the ground and act like a five year old.

You can tell it in his face that Woods doesn't like being on the course, doesn't like giving autographs, he doesn't like being interviewed (and when he is he's always got a chip on his shoulder) and he doesn't want people around him.

He's a dick, and nothing that Phil Knight, The Golf Channel, The Golf Digest or CBS will ever do is going to make him a hero again. They,re just making themselves look stupid in the attempt.

No worries, Tiger is still captain of the "All Dooshbag" Sports Team.
