Clemson pulls upsets on Signing Day

08:25 AM ET 02.03 | If the inexact science of player ratings pans out, the future is bright at Clemson. A pair of five-star Floridians in wide receiver Sammy Watkins and running back Mike Bellamy were committed to Clemson when they day started. The Tigers were in a tight race with Virginia Tech for five-star North Carolina linebacker Stephone Anthony and Clemson ended up winning out. They were not done with their haul of elite linebackers, though. Another five-star Floridian, Tony Steward, was seemingly a lock to sign with Florida State. That was not the case, though, as the nation's No. 1 outside linebacker prospect signed with Clemson during a ceremony at his school on Wednesday morning. The Tigers' total of four five-star prospects is tops in the country.

Something just does not set right with this situation. Sure he is a good recruiter, but look at the other schools w-l compared to theirs, something rotten in Denmark.

This will be the only upset Clemson pulls all year.

Yep.But in the end they will still be Clemson. Average football team.

I understand USCe's averageness through the years, but Clemson's bagmen have done much better through the years, and yet they always find ways to lay eggs when it counts the most.

Their parents will have to drop some serious coin to watch them play on TV. MWC TV deal is worse than Big12's.

Smart move. Boise bettered themselves a good bit.

Indeed.

Clemson seems to pull highly ranked kids every year, and every year they fall flat on their face. They don't even have a great track record of putting kids into "the league". That must be some pretty fantastic lake to keep getting these kids.
