08:12 AM ET 02.03 | The most recent Hornets injury may keep a starter out for a while. With Emeka Okafor already out with a strained oblique muscle, Hornets starting small forward Trevor Ariza severely sprained his right ankle in the third quarter Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and did not return. With a shorter rotation, and with point guard Chris Paul missing more than 10 minutes in the first half after tweaking his left ankle, the Hornets lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 104-93 at the Oklahoma City Arena. ... It appears Ariza could be sidelined indefinitely. After the game, he wore a protective boot and walked with crutches.

QUOTE(#5):

I'm interested in how the Magic will manage that tonight against the Heat. Starter Brandon Bass has a hurt ankle so Ryan Anderson will have to start. Not sure who will back up Howard now.

i read some stuff on them yesterday I think ..Howard is getting pissed at the lack of defense and now is questioning if the team can compete

February 3, 2011  08:47 AM ET

Well I guess Thornton, Green or Anderson could get more run...

QUOTE(#3):

We have entered the dog days of the NBA where injuries occur and the games sometimes seem meaningless and repetitious.

They should ban February from the TV schedule. Watching these teams stumble thru Feb like distracted zombies is never pleasant

It is nice for the bottom feeders that get to capitalize on the fact that the elite teams are basically playing in vacation mode.

Sprained ankles normally take about 5-8 days to heal correctly. But N.O. needs all there players healthy to compete with the good NBA teams.

I am also. They aren't that good right now. I'm hoping that playing a very good Heat team will motivate them but their defense is soft and their 3-point shooting is lame. They aren't going anywhere this year if they don't improve drastically.

I told you that before...they shoot way to many 3's and dont use howard the way they should , also their additions were HORRIBLE DEFENDERS...... all this was brought up when the trade was made...

QUOTE(#16):

Yup, I remember you saying it. I still think the defense can improve but the coach isn't doing anything about the offensive game plan. They keep jacking up 3s rather than pitch the ball inside to Howard. In their last loss Howard only got 14 shots and he was shooting 71% that night. Instead they shot 8 of 32 from the 3 point line.If that doesn't change it doesn't matter how much better their defense gets because Boston, Miami and Chicago will run the shooters off of the 3 point line and then they have no other offense.

Im not convinced the defense can or will improve......Those dudes arent going to get it in my opinion. Also i told you howard should be averaging more and everything should go through him, inside/outside...you were trying to say he was to small blah blah blah, but the truth is thats the way the team uses him , they arent exposing the teams greatest asset, the best big man in the game........

Time for the Hornets to change those ghastly colors.
