I feel like I should get a job being a nfl qb. if guys like this are still getting calls I should be out there, i can throw better and run better than these washed up players.

Fans in MN will like the Weinke tryout. He is from MN and the type of state of MN is they will welcome him if he passes Childress expectations which shouldnt be a educated decision.

In my opinion move Kleinsasser to QB and have him hand off and block for AP. We have no passing game. Childress needs to realize a bad receiving core and poor pass blocking will not change this season by signing every third string or non playing QB he can dig up...

its a little late to look for qbs for this season. make plans for the off season..

November 6, 2007  10:55 AM ET

As a Packer fan if they had a qb that could complete a pass somewhat accurate the first time we played them this year we would have lost because several times their wideouts got past our safetys and were overthrown.

They should give a break to someone who has never had the opportunity to play in the NFL by signing one of the top CFL or Arena League quarterbacks instead of bringing in washed up has beens or guys who never lived up to their potential.

Aaron Brooks anyone?

November 6, 2007  12:46 PM ET

you pay that kinda of money I'll hand off the ball for you!!is that all that is left out there for QB'S?

November 6, 2007  01:10 PM ET

Chris Weinke. Man. (What do you do with a coach that put all his eggs in the Tarvaris basket?)

November 6, 2007  01:14 PM ET

Aaron Brooks hahaha, he's the worse quarterback in the league. Aaron Brooks had Randy Moss on his team in Oakland and couldnt use him right. No wonder Aaron Brooks is out of a job because he cant play. Saints were great his first season they finished 10-6 with Brooks and first year coach Jim Haslett but every season after that it was 9-7, 8-8. 7-9. 3-13. It seems like the path these Saints with Drew Brees and Shawn Payton are headed down, great first season with new QB and new coach and then its a bunch of .500 seasons or 7-9 or 9-7 seasons. It seems like that will happen now with Brees looking like a pro-bowler one week and sucking the next week but about Aaron Brooks, this guy in 2001 or 2002 led the Saints to a 7-1 start and then finished 7-9....how in the hell is that possible?

November 6, 2007  01:30 PM ET

Vince Evans is waiting for his call.

Go to to NFL and Free agent rosters in Madden 08. Go to quaterbacks. Click on overall rating twice so it reverses from worst to best, and that is how Chiildress picks his quaterbacks. Your telling me Jeff George or Aaron Brooks is worse than this guy? He can't even be considered as a veteran. Maybe Eric Crouch is out there?

November 6, 2007  02:23 PM ET

LOL it sounds so funny to hear Weinke being called a veteran player. He came to the league as a middle aged man.

David Carr sucks. Weinke deserves a shot though.

November 6, 2007  02:25 PM ET

Oh. ****. The Vikings? I thought Bollinger played decent, but who wouldn't when you are playing with a 300 yd rusher?

November 6, 2007  02:33 PM ET

My god, the vikes are scumming the nfl hall of shame to get a QB. Playoffs are a pipe dream now.

November 6, 2007  03:01 PM ET

At this rate, the Vikings will redefine the game of football and go with out a QB. Just put Peterson under center and let him run around. It will be like having Michael Vick on your team except Peterson will most likely be more accurate then Vick when he throws.

November 6, 2007  04:34 PM ET

Why Chris Twinkie? He won one game as a pro i think, AGAINST THE VIKINGS!

Aaron Brooks? I say leave it with Brooks Bollinger...Sign a vet who can be the guy in front of Darren Sharper...

November 6, 2007  04:48 PM ET

Weinke=Bust

November 6, 2007  04:53 PM ET

Hell, I might as well try out.

November 19, 2007  07:32 PM ET

Tarvaris will kick **** yet this year. You bunch of
quitters. The progression the vikings have made
through their schedule this year shows that the next game mathematically should be a win.. I don't care
if it's the giants. You'll see. Once past the giants and watch out.. All the way to the moon.
