08:36 AM ET 02.05 | His detractors might say somebody should have woken up Alex Kovalev with a shot in the head a long time ago. Or what the Senators winger is doing now is auditioning for a job as Sidney Crosby's linemate before the trade deadline. Asked if he has ruled out in his mind any chance of returning to Ottawa, Kovalev, who turns 38 this month, provided an interesting answer. "It's not up to me," he said. "I just love to play hockey..."

"I just love to play hockey..."

Then maybe you should start doing it Alex.

Shero has too much sense to pick up a guy like Kovalev. I loved him when he was a Penguin but that is many moons ago. Why do they need him anyway? The Pens lost the first game they were without both Sid and Geno, but then they reeled off five in a row. Last night they didn't start playing until Geno went down.

I just checked my TV listings to see if maybe, possibly, hopefully I'd get to see the Oil/Jackets game. But it only said....

7pm ET - CBC - Come on man, who the **** did you expect.

Sigh.

Va-Geno hurt again? The Pens would be better off if he was as tough as he is ugly.

No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No.

And one more thing. No

Hey Canuck, I love that you are picking up my lingo. Thatta boy! Va-Geno. Hurt again. Sigh.

Oh, and I concur. If Shero were to do that, I would suggest an MRI on his brain, after the tenth MRI on Va-Geno's knee. :)

He sure has a strange way of showing it 3/4 of the time. I guess he loves it in tiny bits and pieces, here and there.

Yah gotta admit, he'll look great in Pens silks, standing next to Malkin and Crosby ...... But then .... even a cardboard manequin would look good standing next to Crosby.

He loves watching it more. From the bench and the ice.

We get the Oilers and Jackets at 5:00 I'm guessing you get the Leafs. It's no suprise the Leafs and CBC have the same rankings as Wilson and Tortorella

Are you insinuating that Canadians outside of the GTA are sick of the Leafs on CBC? Come on W2, the same guy at the CBC that thought the whole country would enjoy, "Anne of Green Gables, Road to Avonlea, Emily of New Moon, Pit Pony, and Wind at My Back", is giving us the Leafs. He obviously knows what's "best" for us. Now please excuse me while I go puke and look for a rerun of The Simpsons.

Malkin probably out rest of season. Torn ACL, torn MCL.

It's not his Va-gina this time. As much as I make fun...you don't win the Cup w/o Malkin. Sigh. Well...unless Crosby comes back and has something else to say about it.

February 5, 2011  02:57 PM ET

I look forward to all Leafs games.

I have to agree - lucky if the honest effort is there one night in five - he's only gotten worse with the close Spuzzum contact.

Hope they find a good surgeon - Dr Jerry Wilson ( that old Flambees Cary, Cory? Wilson's dad) literally saved Hedberg's career, practically before it even started.

It looks like someone has finally blown the whistle on match-fixing in Sumo - the stupid gits were tweeting about it.
