08:46 AM ET 02.05 | Several sources told Yahoo! Sports that Carmelo Anthony's agent, Leon Rose, has recently begun informing teams that the All-Star forward is interested in signing a contract extension with only the New York Knicks. The stance has weakened the Denver Nuggets' leverage in trying to deal Anthony, not only to other teams, but also the Knicks. The sources said the Knicks don't feel pressed to present a substantial trade offer to the Nuggets because they think they can also sign Anthony after the season if he opts out of his contract, as expected.

Thats because they been reading these boards! But seriously, why even bother trading for him when you can get him for free with less money too!

You don't always want to do dirty business because you can. So Knicks have to offer them something but not too much. The offer of Chandler, Fields, Randolph and Eddy Curry's contract is fair. It's up to the Denver franchise to decide if it's worth blowing this season for or if they are better off holding on to Melo for a deep playoff run and lose him for nothing.

Personally I feel like they've decided it's best to use Melo for a deep playoff run. The gate profits will totally outweigh what they'll get from Fields, Chandler, Randolph and Curry long term. At the end of the day whatever they do has to make sense financially so I think having realized that they've decided it's best to wait and start from scratch. I wish both sides well in this especially Melo. It all falls on him.

The 3 way proposed trade was that the wolves would take Eddy Curry then waive him, knicks would send Anthony Randolph to the wolves and the knicks would get Melo....

That doesn't make sense on any mathematica level...even 5th grade algebra. What did you smoke lastnight.

Read what it says....three way trades involve 3 teams. You can't send two players to one team and get a player from a completely different team in return...either the site is wrong or you can't read.

So if that's how you act mature then do you...

Then do you.....what? It doesn't make me feel like more of a man when I make fun of you but when you get all pissy and react like you are I have a lot more fun. Suck it up dude, your post didn't make sense thats all we are saying. If you're going to try and insult back however, you might want to try and make sense....but you don't have a track record for doing that....

You Can't Hurry Love, Bro.

Man, Denver is in a bad situation. The Nuggets will get nothing for him at the end of the season as it seems. The Knicks can simply sit back and wait for him to come to the negotiating table in the off season.

I'm assuming the worst case for Melo would be the upcoming labor talks that may have an impact on his next contract.

Man this is so dumb. Please get this done so that NY has no other reasons for being one game over .500

Yup, I'm the one that is immature. You don't like these back and forths (not fourths) then don't keep the insults going. A true man wouldn't go where you just went brother. Keep it to you and me. Thats just in bad taste

Man i was on the fence on this one until recently.....Hell dont offer anything , keep all your young players and get him this summer, the profits are going to be great anyway because they are back in the playoffs and they have a star....wait it out ...your team is more complete that way
