10:30 AM ET 02.06 | Former Colts and Ohio State quarterback Art Schlichter, already known as one of the nation's most-notorious compulsive gamblers, is the target of an investigation by local and federal authorities centering on a sports-ticket scheme that has swindled numerous people out of several million dollars, according to sources familiar with the matter. Sources said Schlichter began soliciting people for money as part of an "investment opportunity" involving brokering and selling tickets for Ohio State football games and other prominent sporting events to various people about two years ago.

For a guy who "knows-it-all", you're pretty low on intel....

February 6, 2011  11:56 AM ET

Given Schlichter's well-publicized history, it's a wonder that anyone trusted him with their money to begin with.

Perhaps he should rename himself. I have some suggestions:

Knows a lot
Knows some
Doesn't know s***.

Too bad for Art, and just when I'd heard he was trying to get back into the game. Oh well, guess the Vikings will have to look elsewhere.

"Since 1994, Schlichter has served time in 44 prisons or jails,.."

And still there are those who do not think the system works.

Take a look at the article if you want proof this guy isn't just a menace to himself. He swindled a friend. You have to be lower than a snake's belly to do what this guy did. Again.

I'm sure that when the time comes, Schilchter's lawyer will say his client needs professional help and not jail time. And it probably won't be the first time.
