07:57 AM ET 02.07 | Robert Kraft is already looking forward to the draft, and with good reason. The Patriots spent a resurgent 2010 season with half of their snaps being played by first- and second-year players. ... After the draft, the team will only get younger. "We're privileged this year to have five of the first 75 picks, which has not happened in 20 years," Kraft said last week outside the ballroom of the downtown Dallas Sheraton Hotel. "If you take '09, '10 and this year, we will have had 12 picks in the first and second round. If we choose wisely this year, we have a chance to really build a balanced team that could allow us to have a lot of fun in the coming years."

Kraft is hoping next season will be a "rebuilding year" just like this season.

Next year (assuming there is one) will be theirs! Sorry Indy...you won't be the first to host and play in a Super Bowl either.

Not so fast, TX. Indy will come back healthy and be in next year's Super Bowl.

Well, at this point every team has the same 0-0 record so everyone can dream....

... although for some the dream will end quickly and abruptly

The Patriots will be a load for the next five years if Brady can stay healthy.

QUOTE(#6):

to have the season they did with a young team and 12 picks in the first two rounds, the Patriots are still going to be a beast in the AFC. Whether that wins them a Super Bowl remains to be seen.

Protect Brady and the Super Bowl is in their grasp.

That should be Mission # 1 - beef up that front.

Plese Bill. Get some kind of pass rushers in this years draft and stop playing games with all your picks. "I'll give you one of these for two of yours next year " etc. etc. And stop trying to control everything by not assigning names to other coaches such as offensive coodinator. As far as I have heard you are suppose to be a defensive genius not an offensive one. Go out and get a real top notch offensive coodinator and stick to what you know best. "Defence" Your game plan against the Jets especially on offence made it clear to all of us you can't do everything by yourself. Drop your huge ego down a few notches and maybe we can win another Super Bowl.

Love them or hate them, you know they're going to be serious contenders for several years to come.

February 7, 2011  08:54 AM ET

6 picks in the first 3 rounds this year. hope we use it very well.

February 7, 2011  08:59 AM ET

I hate them.

How about we don't trade down 5 times because we could have had Clay matthews michael oher and dez byrant the last 3 years. Thanks

One thing about having all these young players is they don't know how to play in a postseason game...which showed as they looked flat vs NYJ

Take care of Mankins and move Vollmer to the left tackle spot

Patriots have an abundance of riches in the upcoming draft, but they also have a dilemma. They already have the highest payroll in the league, and their philosophy seems to be to trade down in the draft. Their lower draft picks have not turned out as well recently as they have in the past. Might be time to return to a more traditional approach.

They need to set the edge defensively in this draft. They are all set up the middle with Wilfork, Mayo and Spikes. The return of Ty Warren will also be a big help.

Agreed Needs: 5 technique DLinemen, Rush OLB, and solidify the OL...everything else would be bonus.

Take care of Mankins and the O is set. Build the D through the draft and if necessary trade a pick or two for a proven veteran that fits their system.

Good call and sounds a lot the template that they hace developed for themselves. They are going to be good for many years to come. Hey Bud Adams---how is Floyd Reese looking to you now **** it!!!!
