08:01 AM ET 02.08 | With Aaron Rodgers off the board, who becomes the NFL's best active quarterback yet to win a title? It's not Donovan McNabb, though he gets bonus points for longevity. Not Carson Palmer, though he gets dispensation for having to play his entire career so far as a Cincinnati Bengal. Not Michael Vick, though he's a lot higher on the list than he was 12 months ago. It's Philip Rivers, and we're calling it a landslide. He's thrown 135 touchdowns in five seasons as a starter, but never gotten past the conference championship game. His quarterback ratings the past three seasons have been 101.6, 104.4 and 105.5; numbers suggesting either sound passing, or a really bad fever. The San Diego Chargers have won one postseason game in that time.

Phillip Rivers?

Although the numbers are great, I think McNabb is it.

It's time for him to lead the mighty Redskins to Glory!!!

Reminds me of that line from Cheech & Chong's Next Movie;

"Man, if that b***h don't hurry up... I'm gonna wait some more."

McNabb should be leading the Vikings next season. Assuming there is a next season, anyway.

The Grossman Era. I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Probably gonna be a little difficult from either the bench or the unemployment line if Shanny has his way about it. Of course, also gotta deal with the 'alleged' Fat Albert temper tantrum too.

Grossman's little contract was only for one year... He may be gone.

McNabb is going to be our QB, and I think they're going to draft another in the first round for the future.

You're misled.... It's okay... That happens.

McNabb's our QB.

Draft wisely my friend... 'cause that future is just around the corner. And we both know that Grossman sure as hell ain't it!

Could be, I'm misled a lot. Usually it involves a little too much Jaeger and the promise of a lap dance but ah, can't win 'em all.

i'm back from grieving and things have changed a bit...., chico has a cowboy avatar??????

p.s. congrats to the cheeseheads.....

Go Steelers !

Werd!

Santana Moss will be a FA too.... He may be gone as well... So, we'll need to add a #1 receiver to the wish list as well.

At first, I was thinking you meant Snyder instead of Shanny having his way, so you weren't totally wrong...

I think management wants McNabb, and Shanny just wants his son (offensive coordinator) to stay off the 'hot list'.

Lost a bet with MDM, so I have to wear it for a week.

Sorry about the loss, man.

So which reaches single-digits first, the average points per game or his QB rating?

DE-FENSE! DE-FENSE!

Cutler!

Oh, on second thought, Rivers might just be the right call.

I was thinking it was Tebow!

"The San Diego Chargers have won one postseason game in that time."

The way I look at it, that alone takes Rivers out of the running for this dubious distinction. You can't WIN the Superbowl if you don't GET to the Superbowl. At least McNabb has that on his resume.

Rivers has run up his stats in a weak division. That's why he looks good on paper, and the Chargers fade in the playoffs.

It's too early to make the call, but Sam Bradford may be on this list in a couple of years.
