08:02 AM ET 02.09 | Making it to the Super Bowl is not only a feather in the cap for a team; their coaches also become hot properties. Pittsburgh Steelers secondary coach Ray Horton is the favorite to become the Cardinals' new defensive coordinator, according to sources, and the deal could be finalized by Wednesday. Horton is scheduled to interview Wednesday in Arizona with coach Ken Whisenhunt. The two know each other well, having coached together for three years in Pittsburgh under then-coach Bill Cowher. The Cardinals requested permission from the Steelers on Tuesday to interview linebackers coach Keith Butler and Horton. Butler, however, is under contract for 2011, and the Steelers denied the request.

They won't do anything with them.

From the penthouse to the outhouse.

They should be going after the Steelers' players.

Yes! That will certainly turn Derek Anderson into the quarterback they need.

They want the secondary coach? Gee, it seems like the DB's were the weakest link on that team. I'm not sure he's the answer.

No doubt. All four Steelers' QBs are far better than anything on the Cardinals' current roster.

One of those DBs was just named defensive MVP...

The weakest link on the Steeler D is better than the strongest link on a lot of other defenses.

I'm hoping you are referring to their corners

Oh yeah - that average guy in the Super Bowl.

What a world. The Steelers let his contract run out and not sure they wanted him back as a dB coach. The Cards want to give him control of their D.
Tells you all you need to know about these two organizations.

They need work on both sides of the ball, might as well start with defense first

My gawd I hope that's < sarcasm >
If not, that's not saying a whole lot for your Steelers org. is it?
The same AZ team that's been to the playoffs 8 times and has been a figure of futility for the last 60 some years??
Have we been watching the same Cardinals team?

You DO realize that there's at least 3 OTHER people in the secondary playing too, right? Three other DBs that should be released because they can't stop scoring drives when the other team decides to pass on them?

I'm a Steelers fan and I've been complaining about that porous secondary for YEARS now. It doesn't matter how great you are vs the run when you're THAT bad against the pass.

Even with that (other DB's poor performance), Troy admitted that he let the team down with some poor decisions. Manned up as did Ben. I have complete respect for both of those guys on the field.
