08:23 AM ET 02.10 | Move over, Nate Montana? It may be one way the overcrowded Notre Dame quarterback (and scholarship) situation begins to work itself out, if Nate Montana winds up transferring to the school that matches his surname -- with the University of Montana student newspaper reporting that Joe Montana met with the football coaches there Tuesday. "[Montana] has four kids and we talked about them all," Montana coach Robin Pflugrad told the Montana Kaimin, neither confirming nor denying the meeting revolved around a possible transfer for Nate Montana. It certainly wouldn't be shocking, as Montana would be eligible to play immediately at the FCS level and reps will be scarce to non-existent at Notre Dame.

This might be where he needs to go, good luck to him.

I agree one hundred percent. Notre Dame has some very good options at the quarterback position. It just seems Montana is the odd man out. I hope he is very successful at Montana.

If the kid wants to play, go somewhere you can play.

Let's see, Washington to WA, Montana to Montana, is anyone named Idaho?, there would be some Dakota's, not too many Illinois, Indiana is busy making movies, Ohio - surely no one would dare! LOL

Not bad Colonel!
With Little Man Tate (Forcier) heading to Miami, it clears the way for Montana at Montana. BTW, TF will go from academically ineligible at Michigan to the Dean;s List at Miami.

True that. But Johnny Utah played for Ohio State before he took off on his crime-fighting career with the FBI.
