08:16 AM ET 02.10 | Despite the potentially uplifting news of hiring Sandy Alderson, the 2010-11 offseason has been a gloomy one in Queens, which has made it harder to sell tickets. After drawing nearly 600,000 fewer fans in 2010 than in the previous season, the Mets cut ticket prices by an average of 14 percent for 2011. ... On Tuesday, the Mets came out with a new lineup of season-ticket plans -- including, for the first time, free tickets. The new 5-, 11- and 17-game flex packs include tickets to Opening Day or one Subway Series game. Fans can choose from a slate of other games based on the opponent. Prices start at $99 per seat. Fans who sign up for one of these offers will get a bonus game thrown in.

Make sure there are seats that go with the tickets though.

This is all so disgusting. As a Mets fan, all I can do is shake my head. We've finally got Reyes in a contract year, where he might actually TRY for 162 games, and we have very little around him. The owners are a disgrace and should go to prison. The best thing that can happen is for someone to swoop in and buy the whole damn thing. Minaya screwed the team up on the field and the Wilpons screwed it up off the field. What a joke. Can't wait to watch Castillo and Beltran give us another year of half-**** crap and watch another season of the Oliver Perez soap opera. Pitchers and catchers haven't even reported and Mets fans are already looking to 2012. Sad situation, indeed.

They gave wins away for the last 4 years. Might as well start giving tickets away too.

Plus, there will be a drawing for everyone who signs up. First prize is a week in Queens. Second prize is 2 weeks in Queens. I'll be here all week, try the veal.

Up until he got injured 2 years ago Reyes averaged 160 games a year.

He'll have to stick to his usual Friday night activity of going to the mall and trying on gloves

He might go if they start giving away accounts in Bernie Madoff's investment fund(s). Bernie actually spends all his time on them now.

I realize that. He gave an honest effort in 100 games a year, tops.

Similar to every player in the league not named Craig Counsell.
