09:29 AM ET 02.13 | The buzz surrounding Jadeveon Clowney's decision could be undercut by his poor academic record. Two people with knowledge of his classroom performance while attending South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, S.C., have raised questions about whether Clowney will be able meet the N.C.A.A.'s minimum academic standard if he wants to play next season.

He can visit Brenham, TX for a year and truck on over to Aubie, or UF, of LSU, or....get a NC ring.

I think so but the standard would have to be on the ground for some to get over it.

Now that his acedemic credentials have come out;he'll definetly end up at an SEC school. No other self respecting conference that has any acedemic pride will touch this individual. Yes, SEC schools will take him, no questions asked.

This kid is the biggest thing in his home town since, well, ever.

"There's no doubt that Rock Hill is on the map now. We've been here for a while," said youth football coach Cookie Massey,

"But with Jadeveon and everything he's done and everything he's going to do, and then all the other Division I kids to come out of here, Rock Hill is being looked at by people from all over the country."

"There's no way to describe it, and you couldn't imagine how wild it's been," said Bobby Carroll, Clowney's head coach.

"A kid has gone from not having a whole lot, just an average kid, to an American icon. Coaches drive their cars right up onto our practice field. You've got five of the top 10 schools in the country, their coaches, lined up outside my office waiting to talk to him. "

Does anyone think some high school Social Studies teacher will be allowed to F this up?

and in a completely unrelated story, the US ranks just behind Moldavia in high school aptitude test results.

NCAA academic requirements are very low. Tell him if he can find his name in the phone book, he can go to any college he wants. That should keep him at home.

To be eligible, he needs a C+ average and a 700 out of 1600 on the SAT. Pathetic.
