08:08 AM ET 02.15 | Leslie Frazier, hired for his work on the defensive side of the ball, recently drew a parallel between his experience at Trinity International University and the Vikings' current situation at quarterback. When asked how important it was to land Todd Johnson, a star quarterback for the college program, Frazier made a connection to the current Vikings. "It'll probably be just like it will be here in Minnesota, in this draft, to get that star quarterback," Frazier told PFW. "It was everything -- Todd really made a tremendous difference for us, just like Peyton Manning made for us in Indianapolis and Tom Brady does for the New England Patriots. It's the same way at our [NFL] level: Getting a quarterback makes a tremendous difference. And Todd did the same thing for us at Trinity."

Todd Who?

A franchise QB isn't "everything," but it sure makes life easier to have one. More and more, the passing game makes the difference, especially in the playoffs.

I shouldn't attempt to understand this thread before coffee, but who is Todd Johnson and can he play QB cause this guy above is now a Safety in the NFL and he went to Florida.

Is it just me? :-(

I just assumed he was related to Rob Johnson.

I was wondering where Trinity International U was.

All things considered, he'd have to play in Canada.

The UFL is always looking for a few more good players.

Would players no longer under contract head up north for a few bucks?

I went to report this as offensive since you used the F word but it wouldn't let me. So I'm assuming someone has already done it.

Frazier is pretty much stating the obvious here. Childress pretty much left the Vikings in a mess. First with his insistence on grooming the error prone T-Jack, followed by his devil's deal with Favre that last a season too long. Given the fact that all their rivals in the NFC North all have established QBs, the Vikings face rough going until that issue is addressed.

The UFL should be looking for decent ratings, and maybe some league expansion.

You forgot the Randy Moss trade debacle.
