08:16 AM ET 02.16 | GM Larry Riley said in a Tuesday interview that the Warriors specifically need a big man, though he wasn't suggesting anything was in the works. "There's a lot of chatter, but not a lot of substance to the chatter. ... Now, things will heat up. As people get closer to the deadline, deadlines tend to draw people out. Joe [Lacob] and I spent quite a bit of time again [Tuesday] and last week we met for quite a few hours on two different occasions. And we've been back and forth on the phone quite a bit. Right now, there isn't anything jumping out that indicates that people are real anxious to make a deal."

So, if you put one of your little guards on the market, you'll draw some interest

Trading Ellis would be addition by subtraction.

Illogical! He is the best athlete on the team and he is our go to guy in a half court set. He is just too talented to trade for some 2nd tier big man like Nene which may be the only available big that fits the warriors need.

This GS team is loaded with talent and they should rap pat on any moves before the deadline. I know the new management wants to get a "star" in but I don't understand the reasoning. This current team has a good chance of being like the 75 championship team. One "star" in Ellis and just a great all around team.

your comment confuses me and needs explanation. But then again you are a lakers fan and probably don't know match about basketball anyways. Consider my request retracted.

Golden State is 25-29 which would make them the #7 seed in the East. David Lee has been a tremendous Signing for the team. After beating the Knicks, David Lee was injured and missed the next 9 games, and the warriors went 2-7 with out Lee. they are 23-22 with Lee in the Line up.

But David can't do it alone, he can't play both PF and Center he is under sized they need a Center to help them. They can either acquire Pryzbilla or Samuel Dalembert, or even Thabeet from Memphis and Thabeet has trememdous upside in a trade and they wouldn't have to move any important pieces. Or, they can just wait for Free agency and see if they can sign any of the following guy's at Center:

Nene, Denver Nuggets - Early Termination Player Option
Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies - Restricted
Tyson Chandler, Dallas Mavericks - Unrestricted
Yao Ming, Houston Rockets - - Unrestricted (check If he is healthy first)
Kendrick Perkins, Boston Celtics - Unrestricted
Joel Przybilla, Portland Trail Blazers - Unrestricted
Samuel Dalembert, Sacramento Kings ??? Unrestricted
Nazr Mohammed, Charlotte Bobcats ??? Unrestricted

The best available players this summer happen to be big men, both Power Forwards (Zach Randolph, David West, Carl Laundry...etc and Centers listed above. ) Bad Eastern Conference teams better scoop up all these big guy's we are on the verge of having 12 over .500 teams in the West and only 5 in the East come season end.

Nice breakdown. I would like to see Tyson Chandler or Marc Gasol come over. GS just does not do a good job at attracting free agents. It was a coup to get Dorrell Wright in this off season even though he was like on no ones radar. Anyone who thinks this is a bad Warriors team just has not been paying attention lately.

It seems you are in favor of waiting to acquire someone after the season which I actually think is a good move even though the CBA is up in the air and GS has done a bad job of attracting FA's as I mentioned above.

Also how about Ekpe Udoh's defense?

I'm not quite sure what the GS new owners intentions are, I don't follow them as much as perhaps you but any team that has such a big market...and GS is in the Bay area and it is significant... I'm not even counting all the rich folk a few miles away in Mountain View, Palo Alto, Cupertino...the whole Silicon Valley community.

They can generate high level of revenue if they put together a good team. They have 3 great pieces in Lee, Ellis, Curry...they need a Center another back up big man, overall just build depth on the bench.

The only way the get a decent big man is by getting rid of either Ellis or Curry? The same problem they had for the past two years they gotta choose one if Im them I go with Curry and trade Ellis but only if you get a young big that can grow with Curry.
