08:13 AM ET 02.16 | Knicks fans may want to shield their eyes. Isiah Thomas did not deny he was unofficially consulting with Knicks owner James Dolan on the Carmelo Anthony situation and suggested standing pat won't win a championship. "Everyone agrees they need to keep improving to get to a championship level," Thomas said. ... "But for me to speculate on this Carmelo situation, I just don't think it would be proper to insert myself in such a public way knowing what I know." But then Thomas added, "In order to get to a championship level, which every team aspires to get to, you try to get the best players and try to get as many as you possibly can and see if you can win it."

No wonder the deal isn't done. I'd be upset if I were a knicks fan that management still trusts and consults this bozo. An all time great player but an all time awful gm

February 16, 2011  08:30 AM ET

Knick fans this hurts less because there is no picture of Isiah.

Im pretty sure Isiah has no idea on how a TEAM works...When he was in Detroit they DIDNT have "the best players" on that team...They had a lot of role players that played hard...

Maybe Amare should stand up and say IF yall bring back Isiah TRADE ME NOW!!!!

February 16, 2011  08:35 AM ET

Yes, Isiah is involved. Finally, I just could not take it any longer! If he is really involved, I bet they would have gave the team away for Melo.

For real IsaPillPopper. Somebody needs to put a gag order on him when it comes to the Knicks. It's sickening to hear him comment about the team. Now I wish Walsh and Mike resign all together and we lose out on Melo and suck for another 100 years just because Isaiah is involved. F you moron. You have no idea what it means to build and run a successful team.

I swear SI puts in an Isiah reference once weekly just to make Knick fans spit up their coffee or cereal.

I can't believe the Knicks are still working with this crack-head.

Hell I can't believe they even let him in the Garden at all

Seems like its the work of just one..Dolan....He has an amazing facination with Isiah. Even if Dolan felt Isiah forms a bridge to the right players agents etc, theres gotta be a better choice than Isiah.

February 16, 2011  08:58 AM ET

At least you'd think they could picture the correct Isiah. Or maybe Dolan is taking advice from a college player now ... that would probably be better than from the ex-pro Isiah!

LOL! Not the isiah thomas i was thinking of.....

"I just don't think it would be proper to insert myself in such a public way knowing what I know."

No, what isn't proper is for Walsh and Dolan to listen to this idiot. History tells us that Isiah doesn't know his ass from his elbow. This team will never accomplish anything because they continue to make stupid moves; thanks to stupid advice. Anyone that would take advice on basketball from Isiah Thomas, would take advice on gambling from Art Schlicter.
