08:34 AM ET 02.21 | The Panthers are open for business. Florida GM Dale Tallon is trying to unload before the deadline. Pretty much anybody on the Panthers roster is available -- including C Stephen Weiss, if somebody will give up a first-round pick. The list I've been given of available players in Florida: LW Cory Stillman, C Steve Reinprecht, D Bryan McCabe, RW Steve Bernier, D Dennis Wideman, RW Radek Dvorak, C Shawn Matthias and Tomas Vokoun. OK, that pretty much covers the team. The Penguins could acquire Stillman, while McCabe and Wideman are good possibilities to get moved.

Burkie just got a first-round pick from the B's. I can see him give it up for Weiss whose stats say: 16g, 24a, -9. Burkie's kinda guy.

he would be a good line mate for Kessel, not sure he knows what a corner is, either

aren't most players available for trade on the Pathers, most of the time, as it is?

No, Vokoun is the team!

I'd dare say just about every player on every team is "available" for trade if someone is willing to pay the price. They traded Gretzky, didn't day?

He has to replace his departed superstar (Kaberle), somehow. And, what better way to do it than to give up a 1st rounder to acquire a star to play with your other superstars Kessel and Phaneuff.

Is it that hard for them to ban thier IPs?

I suspect these roaches operate in a similar fashion to the old phone scammers. They keep moving their ops around to different servers, which makes it difficult to track down. They need to go after the weasels that operate the business. They're the ones that sell these leads to these poor saps who post here. They probably pay top dollar for the privilege of annoying the **** out of us.

February 21, 2011  11:06 AM ET

That sir, is an insult to roaches.

Why don't they just let them post at the bottom of the threads with the "How to Make $4,000/month" guys?

the Blackhawks should grab McCabe, since theyre looking for a physical defenceman, the only thing about it that'd bug me,is how much that backstabbing **** Tallen would screw the Hawks over in his demands for who hed want in return

true - I do think some players are more "available" than others, though
And I think by Tallon stating the above, the price/trade/prospect/player in return might not be as high as, say, a player on the Flyers, or Wings, etc ..

wasn't it just last week that Weiss stated he did not want to be traded?

yeah it was. unfortunately for Weiss, he's one of the 7 people in the NHL that DOESN'T have a NTC or NMC.

Yes indeed it was. He's worried he won't be able to wear all his white belts and shoes anywhere else.

How, praytell, is Tallon a backstabber? Last I checked he was forced out of the organization by Bowman after essentially building the team that won the Cup. Really sounds like the actions of a backstabber.

February 21, 2011  03:15 PM ET

There are a few players listed that could help out teams. I know that the Panthers are trying to move McCabe. He is still a decent defensemen but his contract may be difficult to move. Some team looking for a starting goaltender that could go deep in the playoffs would be interested in Vokoun. He is still quite good and he is a free agent after this year. Weiss is an interesting choice. He is maybe their best forward, which is not saying a whole lot for Florida. However, he could do well for a team with a better cast of forwards.

Another player I heard that could be available that is not on the list is Booth. When healthy he is good for about 30 goals a year. I hope the team knows what they are doing if they can get good talent and prospects in return. The Panthers just do not seem to draft all that well the last few years. Plus this team has not seen the playoffs since way back in 2000. If the team does not improve within 3 years I could see this team relocating.

February 21, 2011  03:46 PM ET

I wouldn't mind seeing McCabe in an Avs sweater, since they have an extra first-rounder to deal with after the Stewart trade -- the question is whether McCabe would want to stay beyond this year.

Dale Tallon? A backstabber? Are you serious? Now, we know you're drinking your Kool Aid but, honestly, what are you smoking with it?

If Tallon is a backstabber, I wonder what you're calling that snot nose, Stan Bowman? A savior?

Honestly!
