03:33 PM ET 02.23 | Tennessee isn't the only school that received a notice of allegations from the NCAA today. USC has also received a notice regarding head football coach Lane Kiffin's 14-month tenure with the Vols. USC Athletic Direction Pat Haden released a statement showing support for Kiffin: "Since his return to USC last year as our head football coach, Lane has been vigilant in making sure he and the football program follow the NCAA's rules and compete the right way. Lane has my support as our head football coach."

It's not fair. He's only cheated a little bit. Give him time.

Just wait, UTk will get it, what's that phrase, "sock it to me" , and I think they will because of FB and BB and Pearl out and out lied to the NCAA about it when asked, I thought no big deal, a BBQ and party, small slap, but to lie about it is where it will come from, IMO.

Colonel, did you just make a "Laugh In" reference?

February 23, 2011  04:51 PM ET

Do you get the feeling Kiffin thinks the mess he made at UTk would just stay there?

February 23, 2011  05:09 PM ET

There's a lot more trailing behind Lame on his way to USC...

February 23, 2011  05:25 PM ET

Patty, oh, Patty, you might not want to just take Lane's word on how vigilant he has been.

How about punishing the top brass at Tennessee??

February 23, 2011  07:00 PM ET

Clearly, Tennessee has a significant lack of institutional control and ought to face a 2 year bowl ban, if they were using their hostesses as prostitutes to lure high school students to their decrepit university.

Lane didn't invent UT hostesses, they were there fornicating their football team to a high level of mediocrity for decades, now again a Trojan is suppose to take the fall for someone elses behavior? Puhhhlease. It's time to quit whining and let everyone compete on a level playing field. Hell, even with a crippled football program USC still finishes better than 85% of everybody else in college football.

But we should expect nothing less.

SU, I totally agree with you. "What's good for the goose is good for the gander"!!! Tennessee has apparently lost "institutional control" and ought to face a 2 year bowl ban.

February 23, 2011  07:42 PM ET

I thought hiring Lane was already more than enough punishment for USC. It is not fair to ask for more.

It's not like it's only their football program under 1 year Kiffin either, Rhea Pearlman, their BBall HC was already suspended for 8 conference games this season for his sleepover tickle parties with recruits, and now the NCAA has uncovered video evidence of even more damning evidence with his junior high recruits and so called "jesus juice". Here's a hint, it's not juice and it has nothing to do with jesus, although it is orange or jaundice in color.

Give them the death penalty or at least put it all on the internet for free!!!

February 23, 2011  07:54 PM ET

Lack of institutional control, clearly. No cash to recruits or players though. Are some forms of lack of institutional control better/worse than others, as it relates to penalties?

SU, yes the NCAA has to make an example out of Tennessee (and Auburn) as they did USC, if the NCAA wants to be fair. Oh ****, I said the NCAA wants to be fair!!!!! There is no fairness in the "NCAA"!!!!!
