Gabbert hiding something?

08:11 AM ET 02.24 | To throw or not to throw, that is the question facing NFL quarterback prospects, and there may be a right answer. This season's quarterback class is an intriguing one, and eight of the best are scheduled to be in Indianapolis. Only one -- Missouri's Blaine Gabbert -- has opted not to throw for scouts. That's the same Blaine Gabbert that some analysts think will be drafted by the Cardinals. Many have done it, but it still is a red flag when a player opts to skip a workout. It screams, "I'm hiding something." ... Said his agent, Tom Condon: "We haven't had any of our guys throw [at the combine]." Instead, Condon said, Gabbert will throw at Missouri's pro day March 17. That's the same approach Matt Leinart took, showcasing his skills at USC's pro day.

Interesting. who is he again?

When you are the #1 QB in the Draft, why do anything that could hurt your stock? The guy is smart. When your value is at its zenith, don't screw it up. Gabbert is going to be a top 10 pick.

Jake Locker and Andrew Luck could learn a couple things from this approach.

Maybe he doesn't want to be drafted by the Cardinals and become the new Matt Leinart.

It's the same approach used in the criminal justice system: if you are on trial and you already have a strong defense, your lawyer will tell you not to go on the witness stand. No need to take unnecessary chances. Gabbert will throw in his own stadium to receivers he's already familiar with.

QBs just do this crap because they want to throw to their WRs to make them look better so they don't appear to overthrow some random guy running a fly route.

If he's hding something, it WILL be exposed shortly after the ink dries...

Problem with that is who do they think they're going to throw to the first day of training camp? (hint: not their college WRs)...

A very rich young man in a very short while. Now whether he can play on Sundays is a whole nother matter....

No draft pick will be able to sign until the CBA is resolved, correct? If that is the case, he will likely not beking as much money as he would have under the old CBA, with the likelihood of a rookie wage scale/cap.

It's believed the rookie cap wouldn't go into effect until the 2012 draft.

Gabbert is the best QB prospect in this draft. Not sure he will be there for the Cardinals. He is the one teams may move up to get.
Go by the game film. This other stuff is make believe. Fantasy league material.

Good thought. There are a lot of players love to be drafted in the top 20s by a contender rather than by a loser in the to 10s like Carolina.

It doesn't matter if he is hiding anything if teams are still willing to hand him a big paycheck. He'll get drafted high and Tom Condon will keep using this mentality.

Forget the Cards. Maybe he doesn't want to end up in Buffalo.

There are always going to be some unattractive possibilities in the draft process. Some much more unattractive than others.

And the unattractive ones almost always have a need at QB, for some reason.

I'm waiting for the day when they show a kid waiting in the green room on draft day and you can hear him say...please don't pick me...please don't pick me.
